Praise for PINKISH BLU
“(Pinkish Blu’s) latest single Capricorn is part rock-epic, part synth-pop, giving off this maximalist, M83-esque sound by combining thick synth hooks and ripping guitar lines alike that’ leave you absolutely floored.” – PileRats
“The hazy ‘80s production and that casual vocal delivery really works for me.” – Richard Kingsmill, triple j, on “Capricorn”

After the huge success of their 2018 releases “Capricorn” and “Lovely”, gentle Adelaide quartet Pinkish Blu are back with another gorgeous dream-pop track, “Superstar”, out on Friday 23rd August 2019. Featuring their signature 80’s synth-sound and moody, goosebump-worthy vocals, the track slips on the rose-coloured glasses to ruminate on the smaller moments of beauty you notice while in love with someone.
LISTEN TO “SUPERSTAR” HERE
An appreciation of the way love seeps into every facet of life, brightening every corner, “Superstar” paints it’s own world for the listener, effortlessly combining an 80s snare and 90s guitar tones with a modern pop hook.
“I guess I wanted to talk about what love can be without being mushy and sappy; I didn’t want to go to that place of weakness, I wanted to go to a place of wonder and intrigue,” said Brice, the band’s lead singer. “For instance, when you really feel love, the sky may seem more blue, and the smell of rain might make you hungry… Love can really enhance the part of us that has brought the world all of its weird and wonderful art.”
Full of simultaneously joyful and heart-wrenching moments, made nostalgic by vintage effects, the song’s accompanying music video feels like a hazy, romantic window into a youthful relationship.

The alternative sad-pop band Pinkish Blu quickly established themselves in the Adelaide music scene in 2017 with their popular first single release, “Hung Up”.
After only playing a handful of shows, the ‘feelsy’ four piece has already shared the stage with bands such as Last Dinosaurs, The Rubens, Trophy Eyes, Kingswood, Delta Riggs, and WAAX. The end of 2017 saw Pinkish Blu take a step back from live shows to work on their next release. In 2018, Pinkish Blu have brought their singles “Lovely” and “Capricorn” to life with ‘2017 ARIA Producer of the Year’ Adrian Breakspear (Gang of Youths, Pharrell Williams), both of which went on to gain triple j play. The band were also selected to play Groovin’ The Moo 2019 as the Unearthed winners, joining the line-up alongside acts such as Billie Eilish, AURORA, Hilltop Hoods and Thelma Plum.
The band has been able to develop their sound by taking influences from post-punk, 80s new-wave and synth-pop to create their emotional, dreamy and brutally honest music. The gentle Adelaide quartet create constellations of sad 80s-inspired dream-pop, resplendent with sparkling synths and juicy jangle, and have been compared to M83 and The 1975.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
