Praise for PINKISH BLU

“…another hot one from these Adelaide bros who always deliver the goods.” – Nick Findlay, Triple J

Old Blue: “there’s some twists and turns in this one but at it’s core is a reflective sweetness that comes across in a beautiful way. 4 stars” – Declan Byrne, Triple J

Old Blue: “Pinkish Blu have got me feeling some type of way with this one. It’s got that shimmer and shine that they do so well mixed in with some pensive writing (that they also do so well). 4 stars” – Dave Ruby Howe, Triple j Unearthed

Old Blue: “a really honest stream of consciousness that is brutally bittersweet. I love that the production changes with the flow of emotions throughout, really tells the story, 4 Stars” – Ash McGregor, Triple J

Old Blue: “PB always nails the nostalgia indie pop sound, and the way the verse drops into some big beats paired with a really sweet acoustic melody – it really did make me double take. The way you effortlessly switch up sounds is fantastic.” – Pip Massussen, Triple j

Backward: “Clever songwriting, emotionally driven and endearing charm, and hooks that I can’t quite get out of my mind. It really does feel like you’ve stepped right into your strongest song to date and once again I find myself head over heels for another PB release. Not complaining though. So much love!
5 stars” – Claire Mooney, Triple j

Backward: “The perfect step forward for a band that COULD become a serious heavyweight of Australian music. It’s not a knockout blow but it’s the right step forward from the influences they’ve showcased in the past and brings in some more raw guitar sounds. Up the PBs! 4.5 stars” – Tommy Faith, Triple j Unearthed

“Old Blue, a song that seems to capture the Pinkish Blu vision perfectly and show how they’re continuing to reach new peaks with everything they release and everything they do through 2021.” – Pilerats

“Carrying so much emotion and vulnerability within such a musically diverse tracklist, every song is instantly catchy.”  – The Music

“Pinkish Blu are an iridescent Adelaidean pop band that will have lyric-lovers falling head over heels for their romanticised intricacy.” –  AU Review

Adelaide’s Pinkish Blu release their new EP ‘people just do good things sometimes’ today. The EP is a collection of authentic, romantic and nostalgic indie-pop songs that will delight fans of alt-pop artists such as The 1975 and Owl City.

Australian media have already embraced tracks from the EP including ‘Start A Band’,  ‘Backward’ which was added to Triple j rotation, and emotive new single ‘Old Blue’. On their new EP the all male four-piece band are open and vulnerable with their stories and lyricism.

“People just do good things sometimes’ is honestly just a darker toned sequel to ‘there’s no such things as good people’. We wanted there to be two sides of the story and it ended up to be exactly that. The process of making ‘people just do good things sometimes’ can be summed up as stripping things down conceptually and sonically to get to those bare bone truths of the matter. Each song became a matter of forming a slightly more realistic and less romanticised take on concepts we’ve all experienced.” – Pinkish Blu

Pinkish Blu was born in the primary school playground before any of the band could even play instruments. Fast forward to 2019 where the four friends won Triple’s Unearthed competition, and are widely lauded as Australia’s most promising indie pop bands. They are signed to Sony Music and managed by LA based management company ‘Lost Boy’ who also manage dark-indie pop singer, Cxloe.

In recent years, Pinkish Blu have shared the stage with Thelma Plum and Hilltop Hoods at Groovin The Moo, and supported the likes of G Flip, The Rubens, Trophy Eyes and most recently with Odette in May.

“We’ve been scratching to get back out on the road and the idea of playing on stage to our fans new and old almost brings a tear to the eye. With new music under our belt and like a year’s worth of built up extroverted energy we’re more than ready to go.” – Pinkish Blu

Don’t miss Pinkish Blu playing headline shows in support of their EP throughout October.
