Praise for PIP BLOM

“A dead cert for the 6music tea-time kitchen disco, Dutch indie darling Blom hits all the alt-rock pleasure centres: jangly, whistle-able songs with sultry VU vocals. Tight-wound Buzzcocks riffs and Sleater-Kinney choruses.”  – MOJO Magazine (★★★★)

Song You Need To Know: Pip Blom, ‘Come Home – Rolling Stone

“Singer Pip Blom’s broad-brush clank exploded onto Spotify playlists in 2016, compelling her to find a band to fit her vision. ‘Boat’ shows it in full effect: robust, sparkly and with ocean-going choruses on the clockwork Blondie of ‘Don’t Make It Difficult,’ ‘Ruby’ and the rolly-eyed ‘Daddy Issues.’”   – Uncut Magazine (8/10)

…a perfect millennial anthem. – NPR

A potent set of lo-fi, ’90s-influenced rock with angst-fueled lyrics and addictive song hooks. – KEXP

“Uplifting, powerful and sincere, Pip Blom deliver a rich, ocean-inspired debut that is instantly captivating. This is the opening chapter to something very exciting.”  – Line of Best Fit (9/10)

Pip is producing quality, unique and enigmatic music way beyond her years. – BBC Radio 6 Music

“Pip Blom Is Ready to Join the Ranks of 2018’s Rising Guitar Acts” – Noisey

‘Amsterdam newcomers Pip Blom – are one of the country’s frontrunners, their Courtney Barnett-esque slacker-garage rock hybrid noisy in the best way.’ – DIY MAG

In the midst of a lengthy UK tour and with a remarkable fifth consecutive single currently on the BBC 6 Music A-List, Pip Blom today release their acclaimed debut album Boat via Heavenly Recordings/PIAS. Listen here.

Proclaimed as ‘intoxicating’, ‘uplifting’ and ‘captivating’, the Amsterdam four-piece’s first LP – which has been named as Rough Trade’s Album Of The Month for June – truly cements them as one of the year’s most exciting, rising guitar acts.

The band have also just announced news that they’ll be opening the John Peel Stage at this year’s Glastonbury Festival, as well as performing another two sets across the weekend. This is alongside other scheduled festival performances at the likes of Reading & Leeds, Truck Festival, Nos Alive, Mad cool and Y Not.

Ahead of those, this evening Pip and band will perform and album release show at London’s Rough Trade East store, with their biggest-ever headline date booked in on October 16 at London’s Scala. The full tour dates are listed here.

Boat is out now via Heavenly Records/PIAS, listen to the album here.
