Sydney’s Pirra have made their resolution for 2019; New year, new sound! With their latest single Once; an infectious, upbeat tune experimenting with electronic dance elements in collaboration with emerging artist JFT (James From Taree).
Pirra are exploring new opportunities and experimenting with their sound along with emerging artist JFT by blending their classic indie-rock vibe into electro-pop dance inducing rhythms.
“The electronic dance elements and collaboration have allowed Pirra to open up exciting new sonic avenues to explore, “We wanted to blend acoustic instruments and a live band with electronic production, we even managed to sneak in some mandolin,” said vocalist Jess Beck.
The track’s energetic sound gets you up onto your feet as the lyrics encourage you to take full advantage of life’s opportunities and embrace change.
“At its core, Once is about letting go, seizing a moment and being unafraid to change,” said Beck.
It’s upbeat, energetic and ready to dance to, with a disorienting bridge that swirls in a haze of reverb and delays.
Once has been long in the waiting, having hibernated in JFT’s mind for over six months. After finally coming to fruition, there was only one band he had in mind to bring the track to life.
“When JFT first sent me the song I ultimately wanted Pirra to be involved. After pitching the idea to the band, everyone became very excited about working together,” said Maxi Smalls Records owner Curtis Argent.
Once is finally available for all punters to get groovin’ to the new sound of Pirra x JFT!

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
