Indie-rock quartet PLANET (*band name is capitalized) open 2022 in a serious way as they release the title track from their forthcoming debut album, ‘Information Overload’ out today via Dew Process.
Layering blazing electrics over a heavy percussive bassline, frontman Matty Took’s smooth vocals tie ‘Information Overload’ together into an addictive indie-pop groove. Mirroring the nostalgic indie sounds, the visual accompaniment centres on vintage TV sets that display the band’s performance between news clips from the past, the clip premiered on UK tastemaker site Clash Mag overnight.
Speaking on the track and its meaning, Took said “We wanted the video for ‘Information Overload’ to be as intense and sporadic as humanly possible so the idea was to make three separate clips and add in affected news clipping and ads. The final product was filming these clips projected on old TV/broadcast monitors – quite obviously portraying the title of the song, but subtly highlighting how when there is so much going on you can’t think at all or do anything with clarity.”
Their debut album Information Overload is set to drop on March 11, with an east coast tour kicking off in support of the release. They will be hitting up venues in Melbourne, Brisbane, and Sydney throughout March, as well as supporting The Wiggles for their Sydney show at Qudos Bank Arena in late April.
Comprised of Took, guitarist Tommy Peppitt, drummer Harry Stewart-Weeks and bassist Jimmy Weaver, PLANET’s signature alt-pop sound has captured international acclaim from the likes of ROLLING STONE, NME, CLASH and WONDERLAND alongside over three million Spotify streams to date.
Continuing to enthral fans and tastemakers with each teaser release from the upcoming album, PLANET are gearing up for a momentous year ahead.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
