Sydney-based psych-rock artist Pluto Jonze has returned with his new single ‘Walk Off The Edge With Me’ – produced by Brendan Cox (Imogen Heap, Jadu Heart, Guy Sigsworth) and mastered by Leon Zervos (INXS, Crowded House, Midnight Oil).
Opening track ‘Walk Off The Edge With Me’ is an atmospheric cut of psychedelia, splashed with airy synths and slow burning percussion, as angelic backing vocals float effortlessly above deft instrumentation. The second verse introduces Anna Davoll’s delicate vocals, before the bridge showcases the track’s darker side, with menacing synth bass, sharp string stabs and programmed drums.
Contrasting to this, B-Side ‘Kelsey in Corduroy’ explodes with searing guitars and zany synth chords, building to its monumental last chorus. Both tracks are lifted of Pluto’s forthcoming sophomore album ‘Awe’.

Pluto talks about the concept behind ‘Awe’: “’Walk Off The Edge With Me’ is pretty explicitly about taking a leap into the unknown, so it feels like the right way to kick off. Writing and producing this new album has been at times an uncomfortable process for me, exploring a lot of new terrain, collaborating in new ways, and then REALLY focussing in on a specific sound. Whereas my previous releases have probably been in the ‘beautiful mess’ mould, I wanted this album to make a coherent statement”.
Previous singles have been widely embraced the likes of Spotify, triple j, triple j Unearthed, The Guardian, Pilerats, The Telegraph, Channel V, Purple Sneakers, Tone Deaf, The AU Review, Music Feeds and US College radio. As part of indie-rock band, Hey Geronimo, he also played triple j’s esteemed segment Live A Version.
In the live arena, he’s toured Australia multiple times and recently completed his debut UK tour in 2018. Pluto Jonze has also supported Australian mainstays Ball Park Music, The Jungle Giants, Cub Sport, Bluejuice and The Delta Riggs, amongst many others.
