“Just nice short uncomplicated pop songs. Not just hipster crap.” – Matthew – Gosford, NSW

“Alright Already makes me wish I was 16 so I could put it on my mixed cd of ‘sick jams’ that’d I’d give to my crush in hopes he might think I have great taste in music!” – Erin – Marrickville, NSW

“Even now, after a million listens, it still has me grinning like a maniac at how f**kn happy it makes me.” – Rachel – Broadbeach, QLD

“This album is ‘Ferris Bueller dancing on the float’ kind of awesome.” – Georgia – Geelong, VIC

In just over 24 hours Polish Club begin their national Australian tour. Before they head out the Sydney duo have today unveiled ‘Divided’the third single and video lifted from their Top 20 ARIA debut album Alright Already.

‘Divided’ arrives on the coattails of unanimous critical acclaim for Alright Already (triple j feature album of the week) and an unbroken string of unforgettable up-tempo singles including ‘Come Party’ and ‘Beat Up’, placing the band squarely in the front line of bands to watch in 2017. Now that they have our undivided attention, the third single comes as the first curve ball from the already classic LP. ‘Divided’ is a slow smoulder of regret wrapped in a hairshirt of denial, an explosive ballad that echoes with the desolation of a last dance in the school gym after everyone else has gone home.

“It’s about being stubborn and internalising in a relationship. Not being able to admit things aren’t working and lying to yourself,” says Novak, who turns on another cathartic vocal performance as drummer John-Henry summons a king tide of emotion on crashing cymbals.

Rolling Stone Magazine’s 4 Star review calls Alright Already “An exciting, wild noise, yet supported by genuine imagination and ingenuity” while Music Feeds sees their debut as a “highly original, daring release”.  As Polish Club “Breathes new life into the corpse of Rock n Roll” (Dave Faulkner – The Saturday Paper), the release of ‘Divided’ follows a rapturously received cover of Flume’s “Never Be Like You” on triple j’s Like a Version and even a nod of respect from Record Store Day Ambassador, DJ Albo (Anthony Albanese MP).

The knockout video for ‘Divided’ by Tommy Thoms, who directed Polish Club’s ‘Able’ and ‘Beeping’ music clips, is destined to be remembered among the year’s best – an emotional rollercoaster with a sucker punch in the final frames that leaves you gasping.

Polish Club’s sprawling mid-year Australian tour kicks off in Sydney tomorrownight with many dates — not least Melbourne’s iconic Corner Hotel — already sold out and extra gigs slotted in to meet demand.
