Set to perform this October and November with DZ Deathrays, Polish Club today share the stripped back video for Breakapart from their second studio album Iguana. The LP debuted last month in the top 20 of the ARIA album chart, landed triple j feature album and boasts over 2.8 million streams.
Captured by Harry Charnock and Dan Farmer, the visual accompaniment for Breakapart was shot at 170 Russell Street immediately before the band rolled onto the stage in Melbourne on their recent “Meet Me At The Iguana” album tour. The six-week crusade saw the band perform 18 shows across the nation to packed rooms and rapturous crowds.
“We don’t often get a chance to recreate one of our songs acoustically in a way that still captures the energy of the song. We were keen on stripping Breakapart down for a live rendition, as it’s possibly the only PC song thus far that could lend itself well to that treatment. The added twist of doing it right before a show is yet more testament to the fact that I hate myself and want to make things are hard as possible,” muses Novak of the video.
Named in part for the infamous Kings Cross bar, where the only guaranteed upside was ending your night facedown, Iguana boasts a more expansive, adventurous sound already showcased on lead singles Clarity and We Don’t Care.
With sold-out national tours, a triple j Hottest 100 single (Clarity, #76) and a blossoming European fanbase, Polish Club had a banner year in 2018. So it stands to reason that they’d do a number on themselves on Iguana, pushing their band to breaking point on a record that wrangles their wildest pop fantasies from within the confines of a rock and roll band.
Welcome to the latest chapter of Iguana, it’s just like you remember it, but now the hangover lasts days.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
