Praise for POLLY

“We’re Not Really Strangers emerges as a total vibe, a track that’s like the perfect emoji for those rollercoaster feelings when you bump into someone from the past..” (AAA Backstage)

“POLLY masterfully weaves velvety vocals into a vibrant and emotionally charged dreamscape of storytelling.” (Backseat Mafia on ‘We’re Not Really Strangers’)

‘BETTER’ is a track that feels pulled from the club in a neon-coloured movie, a cocktail of creatively twisted autotune and twinkling digital beats, with POLLY’s clear vocals layered along with them. This song shines bright as something both danceable and bittersweet, making it the perfect showcase of the complexities of POLLY’s music. This song comes from that deeply ingrained urge to compare, wanting life and everything in it to be just like the movies and magazines. She shares about the story behind the song, “I’ve always compared my life to others. I find it really hard to not feel behind or not good enough, especially when it comes to the relationships in my life. I think we all compare without even realising it? Something deeply ingrained within us. I guess this song came from a place of comparison – wanting my life and everything in it to be just like the movies and magazines.”

This is just a sample of what’s to come– her upcoming EP ‘Daddy Issues’, releasing on Friday, July 18, is a labour of her love and time. This reflection of her childhood and adolescent trauma explores how these experiences have impacted her life, her relationships, her art, and herself, and the comfort she finds through allowing herself to be vulnerable. POLLY shares, “Writing these songs was like giving little me a big hug, telling her it’s going to be okay. It was cathartic and heartbreaking and releasing it is terrifying. I’m so excited to share this vulnerable piece of me with people and for them to take away from the songs whatever they need to right now.”

Yearn with POLLY’s ‘BETTER’ (out now), and get ready to get real with her upcoming EP ‘Daddy Issues’, releasing Friday, July 18.
