Dark Pop Melbourne-based Songstress TIKA MAREE announces the release of her new single Moon Child, a fun and quirky celebration of those who stand out.

“Moon Child is about being a free spirit,” Tika explains. “It’s having come to the realisation that you may not always fit in, and that’s ok! Embracing the inner weirdo and feeling great about that.”
Born and raised in Mildura, Tika describes growing up as “a very hidden time for me. I always felt like I was putting on a mask or hiding my true self. I felt that if I didn’t, I would be looked at weirdly or judged for being different to everyone. But I’ve learnt to love myself, and just be me.”
Moon Child perfectly showcases Tika’s dark and haunting vocals over quirky synths and a driving bass. Vocally there are a multitude of impressive moments while the lyrics are playful and full of sass. “Lunar Queen, bow down to me, you’re not on my frequency.” The release also comes with a bonus Live Acoustic version and accompanying music video.
Dropping just ahead of the new moon, Moon Child is all about vibrating at a higher frequency. As Tika describes, “Releasing music at this point in time for me is so important. More than ever we need the healing powers that come with music and I hope that my song brings joy to those who hear it.”
