Port Royal are back! Following up their latest single Don’t You Forget About Me with their uplifting track Ain’t Got You; a party anthem about taking stock of the people in your lives and letting them know they’re everything to you.
To celebrate the release of Ain’t Got You, Port Royal will be heading off on their second national tour for this year with dates in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and regional dates in each state.
“When I wrote this song, I wanted to say that nothing matters if the people who are important in your life, aren’t there. I’d recently lost touch with someone very special to me, and I’d accepted that loss but it made me re-evaluate all the relationships in my life, my friends, my family,” said guitarist, Liam Morton. “ Life is lived to be shared, and I cherish every moment I share with the people I love.”

Ain’t Got You is the first track from Port Royal that Liam has stepped forward on taking the lead in songwriting, and the change of pace gave the boys the opportunity to reflect on their relationship together.
“I was pretty taken aback when Liam brought me the song, because I usually do all the writing, but I thought this was fantastic, the very first time I heard it. Walking through the song with him, working out all the instrumentation, pulling together the whole song was special. We ain’t got a clue, if we don’t have each other,” said vocalist, Lawson.
Ain’t Got You is also the first song featuring new bass guitarist Samuel Shepherd, who joined the band midway through their massive 26 date tour in support of Don’t You Forget About Me which has just surpassed 50,000 streams on Spotify.
The Don’t You Forget About Me tour saw Port Royal win St Kilda Festival’s New Music competition and arrive home for a sold out show at The Zoo.
“I joined the band part way through the recording of Ain’t Got You, and it was this incredible feeling. I jump in, and we’re writing something I really believe in. That’s what it’s like to be a Royal, we’re mates and we’re there for each other,” said Sam.
“It’s so great to have Sam join the Royal family. Playing alongside him in the rhythm section it’s like he’s been with us the whole time, he’s really one of the family,” said drummer Connor Arnold.
So, the next time you see your best mate, or your Mum, or the love of your life, put your arm around them and sing, “If I ain’t got you, oh what am I to do? I’ve got no clue, if I ain’t got you!”

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
