The legendary rock n roll hall of fame guitarist and his phenomenal band, along with Spanish singer Buika and respected producer Rick Rubin, deliver one amazing album!

Throughout his extensive career, music legend Carlos Santana has amassed an iconic body of work by fusing different genres of rock, Latin and jazz to perfection.

Inspired by the rhythms and sounds of Africa, a truly unique 11 track album has been created by the master guitarist and his 8 piece band,  ‘Africa Speaks’ due to be released on Conga Records/Caroline Australia this Friday June 7. This album looks set to be one of the most memorable ones released to date.

“This record was meant to be,” he says. “It was like a gift that came from heaven that we received and were meant to give to the masses. We validate people’s existence and touch on so many emotions – there’s humor, beauty, grace and the human existence. We look forward to touring this album over the next year.”

‘Africa Speaks’ – African themes with congas dominating the intro. Deep in the jungle… spoken lyrics set the tone for the song. Percussion sounds great. Amazing riffs, the electric guitar is superb. Wow!! Powerful international song.

‘Batonga’ coined the ‘free form jam’ by Carlos Santana, is a song that is conga heavy delivered fast. Pure instrumental for something a little different. Revving up ones enthusiasm!

‘Oye Este Mi Canto’ – Love this one. Moody and seductive guitar intro. Very Spanish flavour. Transporting me to a place in Cuba perhaps. Love the vocals. Great to dance to. Rumba style.

‘Yo Me Lo Merezco’ – slow tempo lovely music background singing love it. Brilliant song. Guitar woo hoo factor. Will be a popular one. Perfect at concerts I would believe.

‘Blue Skies’ – crisp, yet beautiful jazz-rock vibes. Keys prominent. More classical appeal ripping guitar, epic actually with congas. Smooth background vocals delivered by Laura Mvula rocking the vocals beautifully. Outro is magic! Beautiful fusion of sound! Nine minute track woo hoo!

‘Paraisos Quernados’ – bass and guitar heavy on intro.  Rocking cow bell used.

‘Breaking Down The Door’ – Wow latino carnival sounds. Beautiful vocals and horn section. The track features Carlos’ son and Grammy Award-winning composer Salvador Santana on keyboards.  Guitar is great on this one! Bass tops. French accordion international feel. Delivered by David K Mathews which is quite unique.  This will be a hit.

‘Los Invisibles’ – stomping, dance worthy track. The latino vocals are pretty amazing. Guitar super cool. Great party track. Feel good vibes.

‘Luna Hercicera’ – superb track. Moody, ripping guitar licks, bass rocking. Latino Vocals passionate. The best!! Hot spitfire drumming by Cindy Blackman Santana along with the crisp percussion work from Karl Perazzo. Outro superb.

‘Bembele’ – more emotional and hi energy track. Very moody, blues sound with electric guitar. The bass heavy and prominent on this track. Groovy.

‘Candombe Candele’ – hot track. So latin. Cowbell driven. Guitar hot! Hot! Vocals from Spanish singer Buika with background vocals brilliant. Cindy Blackman Santana rocking the drums!
