High Horse is the debut single from Melbourne based producer, singer/songwriter Allola (real name Alex Latham) and it’s a pearler.

Performing since she was 16 and tucking a contemporary and jazz degree under her belt, Allola has used those skills to craft an infectiously bright electro-pop that is a perfect summer banger. Produced by US producer Mark Eckhert, its 80s synth lines and peppy instrumentation sits comfortably alongside Allola’s shimmery vocals.

Even with the retro sunny vibe, Allola counterweights the song with lyrics that touch on a past destructive relationship and the ensuing darkness it brings. Though the subject matter might be dark, Allola ultimately comes out stronger with confident self-realisation.
