Grayson captures the heart of every moment with his gift of storytelling. His music and lyrics captivate us with not only tales of heartfelt experiences, but the oft forgotten moments in between. Grayson captures those precious moments and delivers them to his audience with a rare, raw sincerity.

How would you describe your journey in the music industry so far, and where do you want to go from here with your music?

My journey so far has been crazy! It has literally taken me around the world. Would love a big smash hit from the next album.

What do you have in store for fans catching you at PURE 2018?

My 5th studio album will be coming out this summer. Title and date TBA – watch this space!

After the festival what is in store for you with your music the rest of the year?

Touring around America, radio interviews and studio time for me and other artist that I produce.  Also co-writing at Capitol Records and socializing.

When did you know you wanted to make music, and perform as your career?

I knew from an early age I wanted to be on radio. I was obsessed by radio as kid. I just wanted to be on it. I had a guitar and use to strum it and pretend it was me on it.

Who have been your musical influences or artists you have admired growing up?

In the pop world John Mayer and in the country world Keith Urban. Their songwriting and success were something to reach for.

Are there any artists or musicians that you have been so impacted by that it changed your view on life or mentality toward music?

Crowded House. Four seasons in one day. WHAT A SONG! It showed me it was open to raw and honest and vulnerable in a song. Being honest and real works.

How do you feel your sound has developed over your time releasing music?

I started recording early 2000s so I had a more rock n pop sound. I eventually found my way to country and telling stories. It took a long time to find my sound but I am there now.

What performance in your career so far has been the most memorable, or surreal and why?

Vicar St In Dublin. Sold out show opening for huge euro band ASLAN. I signed boobs and had my own security. It was like something from a movie.

Have you ever performed in Australia, do you plan to tour here in 2018?

I have spent a lot of time touring NSW and I hope to do more of it at the end of the year. I have performed with many big acts around Australia such as Jimmy Barnes, The Whitlams, Vanessa Amorosi and Judah Kelly.

What is the music community like where you are from?

Growing up in Newcastle, the scene was big for those people playing covers but the original scene died many years ago with most the serious band moving to Melbourne or abroad.  Now living in Nashville the scene is seriously amazing. There is only one Music City. Every venue has a killer band and everyone is or knows somebody.

If you weren’t working in the music industry, what else do you think you would be doing with your life right now?

I love Horse Racing. I’d love to do something in the industry that would allow me to go to the track and drink beer everyday.

What’s one song fans might be surprised you really like?

Mambo number 5 – it’s just super fun!

.

If you could choose only one muso, artist or band to collaborate with the rest of your career who would it be?

John Mayer. Mega talented man. He has mastered every genre.

.

And, if you had to listen to one song on repeat the rest of your life what song and why?

Time Machine by me from my album Little Doors – regardless of the size of the gig by the end of the song everyone sings along. Its pretty special in that way.
