BIO
“DAMIEN’s music is a brash exploration of self that demands a second listen” – AMNPLIFY
Hailing from Ipswich, Australia, DAMIEN is a producer, singer and songwriter using music as a vehicle for ultimate self-expression.
With comparisons to Depeche Mode and Nine Inch Nails, DAMIEN operates within the grey, navigating the complex soundscape of alternative electro-rock. Since his conception in 2020, DAMIEN has created an impressive catalogue of music, including a debut 9-track album titled ‘Girl’ which was championed by listeners and industry alike.
“DAMIEN has claimed his position as a pinnacle of the modern rock scene.” – Rock Era Magazine
Post his debut album, DAMIEN has released a myriad of singles and an sophomore album titled “Wrong Age. Wrong Race. Wrong Gender.” which was heavily supported by Australian community station 4ZZZ, as their ‘album of the week’ and, following this, lead to DAMIEN’s track ‘2 Out 10’ being voted into position 68 of the Hot 100 Countdown.
DAMIEN has also received international acclaim, being named a top 3 artist two years running in Nene’s Butler’s (Austria) top male artists (2021 and 2022).
No stranger to the stage, DAMIEN presents a thoughtful yet brash live show that has seen him become a staple act on the South East QLD gig circuit.
Burning with a desire to express and connect the coming months will see DAMIEN continue to develop and perform a music catalogue reflective of his internal creativity.

DAMIEN’s music is never ordinary. The darkwave artist is intent on pushing boundaries and exploring shadowy themes about identity and the world around us. With his fourth studio release Candidate for the Abyss, DAMIEN breaks himself open for examination in the most brutal way. The album inspired by the hatemail he once received for a provocative outfit gives the songwriter and singer the emotional spark to ignite. The result is an album full of searing tracks.
Joy (In My Own Time)
In the album’s poignant opening track, DAMIEN introduces us to a sonic journey that delves deep into the realms of isolation and identity. Drawing inspiration from the electro-wave era of dark industrial pioneers like Nine Inch Nails, this captivating composition skillfully blends haunting electronic beats with a childlike melody, creating a bittersweet tapestry of emotions. The juxtaposition between innocence and melancholy sets a moody tone that resonates with the listener. With its enigmatic allure and introspective themes, this song serves as a compelling opening statement, preparing us for the profound exploration of self and introspection that lies ahead in the album.
Nowhere
DAMIEN sets out to defy genre conventions with their audacious track, “Nowhere.” Unwilling to confine themselves to a single lane, the artist navigates across multiple genres, creating a sonic landscape that is both dissonant and captivating. The cacophony of clashing rhythms and grungy guitars takes you on a journey, akin to tuning into DAMIEN’s stream of consciousness through a weathered radio. The unfiltered and static-laden production may initially overwhelm, but within this chaos lies an unexpected allure. In a manner reminiscent of Marilyn Manson at his most challenging, “Nowhere” boldly embraces controlled chaos, leaving an indelible mark on those brave enough to immerse themselves in its unapologetic pandemonium.
Abuser
DAMIEN’s compelling track, “Abuser” presents as their most accessible offering to date, gracefully embracing deep house motifs. With unapologetic fervour, the artist fearlessly challenges the bullies and abusers who seek to undermine them. It’s a defiant anthem, a resounding middle finger to narrow-mindedness. Inspired by the hate they’ve endured, DAMIEN crafts a sonic experience that lingers long after the song ends. Building tension, a catchy hook, and a staccato-inspired rhythm create irresistible earworms that beckon for repeated listens.
Cut
DAMIEN’s “Cut” is a bluesy and foreboding masterpiece that takes listeners on a captivating journey through darkness. With a slow-burn approach, the track immerses us in a world filled with intense loneliness. DAMIEN’s detached vocals drift across the haunting melodies, leaving an unsettling and mesmerising vibe in their wake. The song’s intensity gradually builds, drawing us deeper into its abyss. “Cut” is undeniably a jam that showcases DAMIEN’s ability to craft complex textures creating haunting soul-stirring soundscapes.
Dog
“Dog,” the fierce and commanding track by DAMIEN, unleashes a foot-stomping assault that plunges headfirst into the depths of a murky abyss. With its aggressive and powerful sound, the song exudes a driving energy that ignites a sense of rebellion within the listener. DAMIEN’s vocals, ranging from deep and guttural to soaring and visceral, intensify the raw emotion and primal power of their performance. Blending elements of alternative and metal genres, “Dog” is an unrelenting force that demands attention and leaves a lasting impact with its unapologetic intensity.
Empty
“Empty” makes a bold statement with its opening plea for love, setting the stage for a thought-provoking exploration of emotional emptiness. With vacantly sung lyrics like “I feel so empty inside,” the song delves into the depths of desolation. The distorted guitars, pounding drums, and industrial electronic elements amplify the track’s sense of nihilism and boundary-pushing. This unconventional combination of dance elements with themes of emptiness creates a fascinating juxtaposition. “Empty” is a captivating and daring composition that challenges listeners to confront their own emotional voids within the context of an unexpected dance-infused experience.
Hurts
DAMIEN’s latest single, “Hurts,” is a stark homage to the electronic production reminiscent of Depeche Mode. With thumping rhythms, pulsating electronic synth beats, and industrial drums, the song immerses listeners in a visceral sonic experience. As DAMIEN’s poignant vocals soar, expressing feelings of rejection and heartache with the haunting refrain of “It hurts, it hurts,” the raw emotions become palpable. ‘Hurt’s intensity builds relentlessly, drawing the listener deeper into the artist’s pain and vulnerability. And as the song concludes, the lingering strings delicately hang in the air, akin to a tear, leaving an indelible impression of heartbreak and resilience.
DAMIEN’s musical journey through isolation, identity, rebellion, and emotional turmoil showcases their artistic versatility. Their artistic journey invites exploration of human experience further etching their place as one of Australia’s most evocative artists.
