On June 12th, DEATH REMAINS released their new single and video “SELF REFLECTION”. You can check out the video below, but first, here are the Top 10 Videos Of All Time, as selected by members of DEATH REMAINS.
ERRA
“Skyline”
The introduction to this song is truly iconic in my opinion. The neon city aesthetics and the kaleidoscopic camera work adds visual texture to this incredible song. Check them out. – Si
PRODIGY
“Smack My Bitch Up”
This legendary video was banned from MTV and a few other spots. You WILL NOT find this video on youtube or any other highly regulated streaming service. Wait for the twist ending!! – Eljay
DIE ANTWOORD
“I Fink U Freeky”
I’m a big fan of weird and trippy visuals. This was the first video I saw from Die Antwoord and what a video. The choice to keep it totally black and white, alongside the countless moments of shock and horror-inspired images was total genius. – Eljay
THE PHARCYDE
“Drop”
This video has always been one of my favourites. ‘The Pharcyde’ if you can’t tell by the name were a pretty different group of rappers. The video for ‘Drop’ is just amazing. They filmed the whole video in reverse but spent time reverse lip-syncing the song so that it looks and feels as if the rappers are going with the music. It is shot so well it took me half the video to realise it was in reverse. – Eljay
PERIPHERY
“Blood Eagle”
What more can you say about this video than “Woah”? After leaving Sumerian and setting up their new label, 3Dot, this was the first song to drop that shows Periphery unleashed. Their sound here is skull crushingly heavy. – Si
EMMURE
“Flag Of The Beast”
Joshua Travis is a machine when it comes to writing catchy riffs. This song has some pure Nu-Metal vibes mixed with modern extended-range metal. These guys are a huge inspiration with their stylistic choices and crazy heavy music. – Si
ACRANIA
“The Depopulation Programme”
I had the pleasure of working with Acrania quite a few times over the years and with this video most of the footage was recorded at one of my shows in London. It shows how fun these guys are as well as how intense their live shows can be. – Barry
KILLSWITCH ENGAGE
“The End Of Heartache”
Epic video with dramatic playing shots, blurring them with the Resident Evil Movie. What more could you need? You’d also be lying if you said you weren’t singing along by the end of it. – Barry
UNEARTH
“Zombie Autopilot”
I first heard of Unearth way back in 2005 just after they released their album ‘The Oncoming Storm’ thanks to a free DVD that came with an issue of Metal Hammer. The ‘Zombie Auto Pilot’ video was featured on there and I fell instantly in love with the band. I just dig the simplicity and cheesiness of the video. – Barry
SUICIDE SILENCE
“Slaves To Substance”
The video for this song is incredible and the quality of it comes across as a cinematic release with its incredible looking zombie makeup and “killer” scenes. The young actor completely knocks it out of the park. – Barry
