Perth locals, Hibiscus are releasing their new single, Soul For Anything on 16 May 2018 and as always, any time you see this kind of announcement from one of your favourite bands, there is excitement and trepidation mixed in equal measures. Will the song stand up to their previous work? Or are they going to throw a spanner in the works and change their sound too much so that it’s no longer recognisable?
Something that has always caught my eye about Hibiscus is the way that they take a familiar genre and turn it into something so beautiful and so catchy that you will be humming it to yourself for days after and their latest song certainly does that to you.
While you can hear which band they have been listening to a lot and clearly paying homage too, they have created something that is unique and that takes talent. You can pre-order the song here and their single launch will be at The Boston in Perth on 26 May 2018. Hibiscus seriously has the potential to go far if they keep releasing songs like this.

While she is happy to shoot most music, her favourites include bands like Queens of the Stone Age, Foo Fighters, Royal Blood and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (who she has had the opportunity to shoot). Karen also loves long walks on the beach and a great sunset. Music has always been her obsession and photography her passion so when it was suggested that she should combine the two, there was no stopping her from there.
