Ice Nice Kills are an American metal band out of Boston, Massachusetts that have been building a repertoire of killer thriller tracks since 2002 with their first official E.P released in 2007. They are widely known for their horror movie themed tracks which was the focal point for their latest album The Silver Scream which came out in June of 2018 with a deluxe edition of the album coming in October of 2019.
This comes obviously just in time for Halloween and also just in time for their debut Australian tour in December where they will be apart of the monster Good Things Festival touring around Australia. With the release of the deluxe edition and release of the video for ‘SAVAGES’, Ice Nine Kills have released an acoustic rendition of the hit which turned out to be a totally new experimental success for the band.

I’ll be totally honest when I first saw that Theatrical Metal powerhouse Ice Nine Kills were doing an acoustic version of one of the heavier faster songs on there newly released masterpiece The Silver Scream I thought that it was crazy and would sound to odd for my liking; oh boy was I wrong or what. This totally new look at the song ‘SAVAGES’ that actually works really well as an acoustic rendition, it really gives there fans an insight into a side of the band that is not seen very often.
It really gives vocalist Spencer Charnas a chance to quiet down from the usual and showcase his pure talent in a different environment. Right from the first chord hit in the beginning of the song through till the final strum of the steel strings its obvious that a lot of time and effort has gone into making sure that this rendition is as good as it possibly could be.
If I could critique anything at all it would be the guitars sound a little bit raw and less programmed than the rest of the track; however, I suspect that they have done this on purpose for effect. The track leaves listeners wanting more acoustic material from the band and drawn me back to how good the band really is.
Be sure not to miss Ice Nine Kills on their first ever Australian Tour in December of 2019 as a part of Good Things Festival and also check out the Deluxe edition of The Silver Scream which is set to be released on October 25th.
