Have you always made your own music?
Yeah! Since I had just picked up a guitar I was writing songs, even though they were terrible songs, it still counts! Before it got a guitar I think I tried to write terrible rap songs haha.
When did writing music become a more serious concern for you?
When I started actually looking up to artists that inspired me, and I really wanted to write music of my own for others, in the way that I related to my favourite bands tracks. I always craved that feeling.
What makes your sound unique?
I guess coming from a punk background, I still have a little bit of those vibes in my current country genre. ‘Punktry’ we call it haha! Though I don’t class myself as Punktry, I just write what I would want to listen to now days, I don’t really follow a trend as such. But people seem to be liking what I’m doing so far!
Why do you think people resonate with your music?
With the latest stuff especially, the subject of the songs have been relatable to people. Some songs are super party and suit when you want to do just that, but my slower tracks seem to be the ones that connect with people.
What inspired you to write, ‘The Way God Made Me’?
I wrote this track about depression that I’ve battled for awhile and a lot of people have come to me and said that it’s helped them which is amazing. It honestly wasn’t written to help people, more just me venting how I was feeling. But I’m so happy that it’s helping people.

What do you hope listeners might get out of this song?
I kind of hope that they realise I had the courage to say something, And I hope that it encourages them to do the same. Depression is a deep dark thing… Talking about it and getting it off your chest is the first step to fighting it.
If you could perform live with any music artist or band, Alive or Dead, who would you choose? And why?
Elvis Presley. Absolutely love Elvis. Also Keith Urban, he’s one of my biggest influences and the initial reason I feel in love with country music! Or maybe even Motley Crue for the parties! Hahaha. This questions answer could go on for years haha.
As a musician, do you have to make conscious decisions about how much of your personal life to pour into your work? Do you have a line, or a limit?
Not really, I’ve been doing this since I was 16 years old and it’s kind of become my everyday life. I absolutely love it and wouldn’t change it though, so I can’t complain.
Do you think musicians have a responsibility to use their platform to make a difference?
Not really. We musician’s make music. That’s what we do. And our responsibility is really just to do that, But if our songs make a difference, or people look up to us or we inspire people then that is amazing and I love that. For years I dedicated, and still do, spending time talking to Fans if they’re in a tough spot. All I want to do is help people. But some musicians just make music, and that’s okay also. That’s why we’re in this from the start!
What was it like to transition from pop punk to country music? Was that difficult, or was it a natural progression for you?
Well, my band was having a tough time and I had fallen head over heels for country music. I had actually already recorded a country EP to put out as a side project alongside my band for some fun. Little did I know that 2 years later, that would be my main focus! So it was kind of a natural move once the band broke up, I could have decided to keep going down that road, but took a risk and it was honestly the best thing I have ever done.
.
.
What else have you got planned for 2019?
I’ve got a new EP dropping soon and a bunch of tour plans to come! Can’t wait for the rest of this year.
Do you have any long-term goals or aspirations in your music career?
I really just want to tour and share my music as much as I can. It’s really all I want out of life.
What’s been the career highlight so far?
Probably playing just before Love and Theft In Rockhampton at rockin rocky festival! That night was amazingly. And to play just before a band I love was great!
