How did the band come together? Is there someone who is a “driving force”, or do you all make decisions together?
Pat and Adam have a history of making music together (on a MUCH heavier spectrum), and had a desire to create something a lil different and push their boundaries.
Penny came to mind as a frontwoman as the guys had recently shared the stage with her band Across the Atlas. One audition and a few beers later, Alpha Street was born.
We trust each other’s judgments, if one of us has a burning fire or vision, we let that person run with it while giving support and feedback. This mutual trust makes decision making pretty stress free (other than deciding on the initial band name haha).
How would you describe your sound? Why do you think people resonate with your music?
Uniquely modern synthpop with nostalgic 80s and 90s vibes. Our vocal hooks and song diversity mean there’s something for everyone. Even if pop isn’t your thing, Alpha Street is fun, and fun is universal.
Which artist’s music and/or performance, past or present, inspires you today?
Being post emo kids, we grew up on a diet of Paramore and black eyeliner. Paramore’s ability to evolve across genres while maintaining their individuality, attitude, and edge, is definitely an inspiration.
Your new single ‘Wild’ has just been released! Describe its origin and evolution.
Our producer (Mario Spate) challenged us to write a fresh new song, leaving any pre prepped ideas at the door.
‘Wild’ was the result of that process, the song was originally called ‘Seahorse’ as the original lyrics were… somewhat strange!
Is there an EP or Album on the drawing board?
We put creativity, inspiration and love into every song. An EP is a gift (to us and our new and existing supporters). We want to release an EP when you know us better and we can celebrate together. In the meantime, we have a few more singles up our sleeve!

Any tours or events coming up soon? What are you looking forward to, and what can the fans expect?
Our next single “To Much To Take” is on the horizon! The video is booked and we’re planning a big launch party later in the year. Keep a close eye on our socials to be part of that. <3
How has COVID affected you to date? What have you introduced to balance the losses from missed events?
We’re a live focused band, we love to perform.
Covid derailed us. Cutting the live performance aspect from our existence impacted us all significantly. Some of us lost motivation and hope, and I’ll be the first to admit that my mental health took a hit.
We were forced to walk in unfamiliar territories. We’re great at building connections with our live show but keeping in touch with audiences online was a huge challenge, but also an opportunity. We focused on writing and started sharing ‘behind the scenes’ content to keep connected. We wrote a little song called The Isolation Station which we recorded remotely. It expressed how we were feeling but also reminded us that this was temporary.
If you could perform with any music artist, Alive or Dead, who would you choose? And why?
Ed Sheeran or Oli Sykes (Bring Me the Horizon) because of their ability to connect and engage a whole stadium, I’d love to be part of something like that.
Do you have any long-term aspirations as a music artist?
We’re keen to jump on an Australian tour or festival. We were so close pre covid and it’s still on our bucket list. I also think we would do pretty darn well in Eurovision haha.
If Covid taught us anything, we’ve come to terms that we can’t solely rely on live shows to validate us as artists. I aspire to create and write because it’s what I’m born to do, not because I’m expecting a pot of gold. A pot of gold would be nice though. Haha
What is the best thing about performing to a live audience? What’s been the career highlight so far?
A live audience is literally fuel to our fire, it gives us energy and we vibe on that. We love when people connect over our music.
Career highlight would have to be our first show back post covid. Watching people moving, dancing and singing again, made my heart swell (in a good way) and reminded me why we love what we do.
