Have you always wanted to be a musician? When did you get the song writing bug?
I never intended on becoming a singer, I started off doing dance and acting at a performing arts school and one day my teacher forced me into singing, from that moment on I fell in love with music and couldn’t stop.
The song writing bug took a while to develop. I was very shy sharing my opinions and it’s wasn’t until after I built my confidence up that I started to write.
How would you describe your sound? Why do you think people resonate with your music?
My music is pop, but it has been heavily influenced by country style lyrics where it tells a story and old school vocals, whilst bring a new edge too it all.
People relate to my music because the lyrics are about things, we all go through, I try to be honest in my lyrics and truly show vulnerability in the music.
Which artist’s music and/or performance, past or present, inspires you today?
There are so many and for all different reasons. Lyrically Taylor Swift has influenced me lots, she is a storyteller and does it in a way that’s catchy, relatable and honest. Beyoncé, Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson all influence me when it comes to live performances, they all are able control the stage and that’s something not every singer can do.

Your new single/EP/Album has just been released/is about to be released! Describe its origin and evolution.
“Without Us” is a combination of growth in my previous music and a strong sense of who I am currently. I was able to work with the amazing production duo Red Triangle on the song. We sat around talking about music and what’s inspiring us currently, they started building a track and we all wrote the lyrics, next I know I had fallen in love with the track.
Is there an EP or Album on the drawing board?
I am aiming to release an EP, but before then I will be doing more singles over the year.
Any tours or events coming up soon? What are you looking forward to, and what can the fans expect?
Sadly, I am unsure about touring currently happening with the current situation globally. If things go back to normal and I can do a tour, then I will but it’s difficult time for us all at the moment. So, if 2020 isn’t looking great for touring then 2021 will be an amazing year for it.
If you could perform with any music artist, Alive or Dead, who would you choose? And why?
Michael Jackson!! He was the ultimate performer; I just couldn’t imagine not wanting to be able to learn from him. I sadly never got to see him live, but I have been fortunate to see many of the artists he has inspired perform live.

Do you have any long-term aspirations as a music artist?
Many, I am influenced by everyone for a different reason. Currently my top would be Taylor Swift, I think she is an incredible song writer, businesswomen and someone that is very strong.
What is the best thing about performing to a live audience? What’s been the career highlight so far?
I have been so fortunate to be able to perform so I make sure I do my best every time and what I started to notice was being on stage is what I call home. It’s where I feel safe, because it’s something I love more than anything. I am so thankful I can perform my own songs and open up for amazing artists.
My career highlight would be performing at Manchester Arena, I saw my first ever concert there and I remember thinking wouldn’t it be amazing to be able perform here. So, 10 plus years later I was on that same stage, and I hope I inspired someone to follow their dreams like I had been inspired.

new single
‘WITHOUT US’
Asher Knight enters 2020 bold and bright, more than ever before. His latest single pop single ‘Without Us’ is his greatest track yet, and a lot different from previous material as Asher progresses with his craft and talent.
“Without Us” is one of my most vulnerable songs yet. Most of us have someone or a part of ourselves that we feel we can’t live without, and without them we can feel lost and can’t always cope. This song is about finding strength in coming together, whether that’s with another person or that part of ourselves we sometimes can’t reach. Together we can do anything!
Asher Knight is an inspirational 22 year old singer songwriter based in London, UK. Over the last 18 months Asher has supported major artists on their arena tours, and has had the opportunity to perform at the country’s most rewarding venues such as the O2 Arena, Birmingham Arena etc. Asher brings his positive high energy performance to thousands across the country and builds him a legion of loyal fans.
In 2018 Asher joined the ‘Power Of Muzik’ collective, an initiative created by celebrity vocal coach CeCe Sammy, which promotes positive messaging and awareness of important issues like Bullying and Mental Health through high energy live shows with young performers in schools across the country.
Following the success of Asher Knights’ ‘Power of Muzik schools tour’, Asher was set to head on a 4 month tour of UK schools in partnership with children’s charity Barnados. Due to the current climate, this tour has cancelled but should hopefully be rescheduling later on in the year.
