For any new fans, how did it all begin?
1996 in a Brunswick backyard for a friend’s art exhibition. We played 3 of Glenn’s first ever songs and 2 covers- ‘Shame’ by Brad and ‘Come Together’ by The Beatles.

Where did you develop your interest in performing music to an audience?
I’m one of 7 children who all played and sang songs at home on guitar,  piano or whatever was at hand along with Mum and Dad…every dinner time was a chance to perform in front of a captive audience.

What kind of music did you grow up on?
Bob Dylan, Dire Straits, The Beatles, Cream, Crowded House, U2, Midnight Oil, Cold Chisel and any Top 40 FM radio (as an 8 year old, I would fall asleep to the radio every night.

Which artists inspired you?
Myself and Adam Donovan were absolutely obsessed with Dire Straits from the age of 13. We learnt every song in their catalogue- both recorded and live versions- and would play it in his garage as a duo.

What is unique about what you do?
Who else can tell my story the way that I choose to tell it…I’m the OG Dave Williams from Ringwood and Shepparton.

Why would fans be attracted to your sound?
Glenn’s got a good turn of phrase and an ear for a distinct and memorable melody. Can sing ok too.

23 years is a long time. How do you all possibly stay together over that time without killing each other?
Restraining orders.

What is your secret to maintaining “harmony”?
Restraining orders

6 Albums, 13 Aria nominations, can you describe the highlights?
Meeting and working with talented, hardworking and inspiring people.

What events stand out especially for you?
In no particular order…Leonard Cohen tour, Crowded House tour, multiple BDO tours, multiple U.S tours, Sydney Opera House gig, playing the JJJ Before Too Long tribute concert to Paul Kelly to name a few.

If someone only had time to listen to one of your albums, which one would you choose for them, and why?
I would give them a compilation or send them a link to Mixcloud …none of this one album nonsense.

Is there any new music on the horizon – single, EP, Album?
Glenn is a song factory so there’s always something on the simmer.

Does songwriting come easily to you or is it a “right place, right time” process?
I wish I could write a song but every attempt sounds like 1980’s U2.

You have a tour coming up called “On The Quiet”. What is your intention with it, and what are you looking forward to most?
Playing the Augie March canon in its most direct and potent form…and watching the ashes in hotel rooms with Richo, Dono and KBOX (Ed ain’t no cricket fan) post gig with a flagon.

You have Grand Salvo touring with you this tour. How did you come to choose them?
Paddy is a very old friend of Augie March and has been producing music of a consistently high quality for close to 15 years…his most recent album Sea Glass is a fucking masterpiece.

If you could pick absolutely anyone to bring on tour with you, whom would you pick and why? (Dead or Alive)
Prince. You know why.

What are your major goals or milestones for the future?
See the Pies win another flag.
