Have you always wanted to be an artist? When did you get the song writing bug?
I always loved music growing up. I was too anxious to sing for anyone, but I played many instruments, including the viola, flute, trombone, ukulele, and now the electric guitar. My obsession started with my love for theater music. I adore the passion behind Broadway shows and used to watch them in New York with my dad. I started writing my own original songs three years ago, and it all just took off from there! I love expressing myself creatively, and writing was always my favorite subject in school.

Briefly describe your journey to date.
I started my journey by posting myself online when I was 17! I always had big dreams and saw social media apps as a way to chase after them. As I became more confident, I began creating and posting covers of songs by artists I loved. After a few months of that, I started making my own songs! Since then, I’ve been working hard on my music, touring, and really coming into my own. Recently, I was signed and have shifted my focus entirely to music. I’ve been releasing music for about a year and a half now, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds!

How would you describe your sound? Why do you think fans resonate with your music?
I would describe my sound as dark, high-energy, and relatable. I love a heavier track with strong guitars, loud drums, and belted vocals! I think fans resonate with my songs because I take real struggles I’ve been through and turn them into tracks that many can relate to. A lot of what I’m feeling, others are too, so I try to make my songs vague enough that anyone can relate to the overall emotion. Even though many of my songs aren’t happy, the tracks incorporate fun, high-energy elements that make them hard to stop listening to.

Which artist’s music and/or performance, past or present, inspires you today?
I’m really inspired by Hayley Williams and Avril Lavigne. Both of them have been huge influences on me as I work to find my sound and vocal style. Hayley has incredible live vocals, and Avril’s writing style is strong yet simple. I often listen to them to spark new ideas.

Your latest single ‘In Loving Memory’ has just been released! Describe its origin and evolution.
I created this song one day because I wanted to reclaim some of the power I felt I had lost. I wanted to make a song that represented moving forward in life, away from things that don’t serve you. I chose a more graphic way to do it, but the theme of the song is letting go of your past ways. I wanted this to be a more dramatic, heavy track that was fun, but also marked a clear point of transformation. When I walked out of the studio, I knew I had created something special, and it marked an entirely new beginning for me.

What tours and events are coming up? What are you looking forward to, and what can the fans expect?
I don’t have any set out just yet, but fans can expect some soon in the future!

If you could perform with any music artist, Alive or Dead, who would you choose? And why?
I would choose Hayley Williams/Paramore to perform with. She is one of my biggest vocal influences, and I love everything about her. Paramore is the first band I became obsessed with, and I even watched them live on Halloween night two years ago! Hayley always has great energy and vocals on stage, so I would love to learn from her.

In a short time, you have achieved a lot. Well done. What are your long-term aspirations as a music artist and how do you see yourself progressing towards them?
I really want to build a connection with my audience through more tours and playing at music festivals. It has always been a dream of mine to perform at any festival, and I hope I can in the future! I work towards my goals every day by posting content and making new music. To get more comfortable on stage, I’m going to do more shows and keep learning!

From what you have learnt so far, what piece of advice would you give to an artist starting out?
You can’t be afraid to fail! I had to learn that not every song is going to be a smash hit right away, and that’s okay. It’s hard to keep going when you feel like no one is listening, but if you keep pushing, you’ll find the right fanbase for you!

What is the best thing about performing to a live audience? What’s been the career highlight so far?
I love seeing my fans in person, singing along to their favorites! It warms my heart that people know the words and are excited to shout them out with me. Connecting with people in real-time like that is so special. I’d say my career highlight was when I played a small three-show tour! I learned so much from that experience and met so many amazing fans.
