Have you always wanted to be a musician? When did you start writing music?
I began playing country music in small, local country music festivals from when I was around 12 years old. I got to play with a band and learn from some of the best in the business from such a young age. It made me completely fall in love with the industry. However, I began singing lessons in general when I was 8, doing pop and musical theatre. But I discovered Taylor Swift, and everything shifted.
Which music did you grow up listening to? How has it influenced your current style?
I grew up with a lot of Keith Urban and Kasey Chambers, but also a lot of Fleetwood Mac, The Chicks and Bruce Springsteen. Mum and dad raised my sister and I on the good stuff! It definitely influences my music today and probably forever as all of these artists just don’t have a bad song! That’s my goal, no bad songs.
How would you describe your sound?
Fun, quirky, different country. It’s not pop country, but it’s not country rock – it’s more-so traditional country fused with a bit of modern country. Kind of in the middle.
Why do you think people resonate with your music?
I think, and I hope, that people can relate to how relatable the music is. I try to create relatable content within my songs that are still personal to me so that a variety of people can enjoy it!
Your new single ‘Whiskey Worked That Way’ has just been released! Describe its origin and evolution.
This track is really reflecting the future sound of my music within one track. Mature, fun, catchy and a little bit outside of the box. I love to challenge myself with my songwriting and this was definitely one of them. I co-wrote it with Jen Mize, Robbie Mortimer and Chloe Styler and it was by far, one of the best writing sessions I have ever been a part of.
Do you have any new music in the works?
Yes, I have a few more singles dropping throughout the year!

.
Do you have any shows/tours coming up? What are you looking forward to, and what can the fans expect?
I will be playing some super exciting festivals in the next few months which I am immensely grateful for! The Lasso Country Music Festival just south of Brisbane will be so much fun! The lineup is incredible and one that is not to be missed in my opinion. I feel honoured to be a part of it. I’m also heading to the Gympie Music Muster, one of my favourite festivals ever!
If you could perform with any music artist, Alive or Dead, who would you choose? And why?
Charlie Worsham! I am obsessed with him as an artist, live performer and songwriter. He is seriously so underated.
What’s next for you in the near future?
Write more music, record more music, play more music, repeat.
What are your longer-term aspirations?
My major goal is to play CMA Fest over in Nashville. It is definitely a big goal, and one that will most likely take a long time to achieve, but that’s all the fun of the industry! I love the journey, the ride and the people along the way. I also would love to just write each song to be better than the last. Challenging myself with songwriting is something that I find really enjoyable and fun. I’d love to be able to write for other artists too!
What is the best thing about performing to a live audience?
I love interacting with the crowd. I find it so much fun and I think they do too! Bringing joy to people is just the best feeling in the world!
