How did the band come together back in Darwin? Where did it all begin? When and why did you move to Melbourne?
So basically I (Jeremy) formed the band back in 2018 with my high school friend Donald. We started off by doing open mic jam nights at places like Dolly’s Bar and the Parap Tavern. Those were pretty interesting times, we met a lot of people there and auditioned a lot of people and then we eventually got a band together and started doing gigs around Darwin.
I moved to Melbourne back in late December 2022, the band was already established by then but I couldn’t take any of the Darwin members with me so I started the band again in Melbourne and found the current members and now here we are. Why did I move to Melbourne? Well I guess I just wanted a change of scenery, Darwin was great but there’s more to do in Melbourne. And Melbourne is where it’s at if you want to be a musician.

Briefly describe your journey to date.
So long story short, I formed Danger Den back in 2018 with my high school friend Donald and a bunch of other guys as I’ve previously mentioned. We released our debut album ‘Pull Yourself Together’ produced by yours truly, back in 2021. During that time we opened for bands such as Eskimo Joe, Butterfingers and Southeast Desert Metal and we were also nominated as a finalist for the Northern Territory Music Awards and won the Territory Sounds Countdown in 2022. In late December 2022 I moved to Melbourne and found the current members of the band and we released 2 new singles ‘Merch Guy Mike’s Favourite Song’ and ‘New Year’s Eve’. This year 2025, we played in Where We Belong Festival in June and we released our latest single ‘Daisy’ just last week, and now here we are!

How would you describe your sound? Why do you think fans resonate with your music?
I guess I would describe our sound as early 2000s pop punk with classic rock influences. The inside joke we have is that we basically sound like Blink-182 with 3 guitarists and sick guitar solos! But yeah, I guess our sound is nostalgic that’s why a lot of the people who go to our shows connect with it.

Which artist’s music and/or performance, past or present, inspires you today?
Green Day and Blink-182 will always be my all-time favourite pop punk bands and my biggest influences. The Foo Fighters are also another one of our all-time favourites!

Your latest single ‘Daisy’ has just been released! What’s it all about? Describe its origin and evolution.
So ‘Daisy’ is about a love triangle in the workplace. I won’t name any names but basically I had a friend at work who had another friend and they both fancied a hot workmate. Let’s call her Daisy, since her real name rhymes with Daisy. Anyways Daisy basically ended up with one of them. The one that didn’t end up with Daisy was a little upset but later on realises that he’s dodged a bullet!

Is there an EP or Album on the drawing board?
At this point in time we’re just focusing on releasing singles and doing more music videos. But yeah for sure we’d love to do another album again at some point so stay tuned for that!

What tours and events are coming up? What are you looking forward to, and what can the fans expect?
So our next show is with the Kittyhawks at the Leadbeater Hotel in Richmond and the one after that is with the Brisbane pop rock trio, Whitt’s End at the Boogie Man Bar.

If you could perform with any music artist, Alive or Dead, who would you choose? And why?
Probably Mayday Parade, back when Jason Lancaster was still in the band. That was probably their best era as a band and there’s very few YouTube videos of him playing live with Mayday so yeah, I think it’d be cool to see if him live with them again.

What are your long-term aspirations as a music artist and how are you progressing towards them?
Maybe play at the Forum eventually? Haha I guess I just want to keep this band going for as long as I possibly can!

With that in mind, what piece of advice would you give to an artist starting out?
I guess it’s all about being consistent. If you like what you’re doing, keep doing it!

What is the best thing about performing to a live audience? What’s been the career highlight so far?
The best thing about performing to a live audience is that I get the chance to entertain people with the songs I write. Tickets cost money and the people that choose to go out and see us play spend about $15 to $20 sometimes even $30! The least we can do is give them their money’s worth. Playing at Where We Belong Festival would have to be the highlight for sure! We were treated very well by both the crew and the audience! We felt like real rock stars then!

Now for some quickfire questions to get a little personal:
What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done? Start this band!
What is the one topic you can talk about for hours? Pop punk for sure!
What is the thing you like most about yourself? I like that I’m a musician I guess… Predictable I know…

Finally, let’s find out what your current (or all time) favorites are –
Album – A Lesson In Romantics by Mayday Parade. Every song is literally a banger.
Artist – Green Day.
Movie – Tropic Thunder.
Place to visit – Hydra Rehearsal Studio. Shout out to Pete!
Venue to play – The Bergy Bandroom.
Food – Pizza. So pop punk.
Drink – Water.
Person in History –  William the Conqueror.
Tattoo – (If you don’t have one, what would you get?)  I don’t have any but if I did, I’d probably get my Gibson Les Paul Junior tattooed on my forearm.
