FROM ASHES TO NEW: Breaking Boundaries and Touring Australia

When From Ashes to New first burst onto the scene, few could have predicted just how quickly they’d make a name for themselves. The Band’s Beginnings: From Lancaster to the World Stage

Danny explains that From Ashes to New began with Matt, the band’s founder, who got tired of the revolving door of musicians who weren’t committed to their craft. He wanted to create a band that would take its music seriously, and so he formed From Ashes to New. “He pieced it together the way that he wanted to, and the band picked up steam pretty quickly,” Danny says. The band’s blend of hard rock and hip-hop influences resonated with fans, and they soon found themselves on the road. Over the years, the lineup has evolved, but the core of the band remains the same: Matt, Lance, drummer Matty, and Danny.

A Sound That’s Anything but Ordinary

One of the things that sets From Ashes to New apart is their willingness to push the boundaries of rock music. With influences ranging from Linkin Park to Breaking Benjamin, the band has created a sound that fuses hard rock with electronic elements and hip hop. This genre-blending approach is something that’s become increasingly popular in the modern music scene, with artists like Jelly Roll and Ice Nine Kills bringing diverse sounds to the mainstream.

“We all grew up on similar bands, like Linkin Park, and we’ve just stayed true to what feels right for us,” Danny explains. “We didn’t want to force anything—we just wanted to make the best version of what we are.”

Their most recent album, Blackout, released in 2023 and followed up by a deluxe version in 2024, showcases this evolution. It’s a mix of heavy riffs, catchy hooks, and electronic experimentation that stays true to the band’s roots while exploring new sonic territories. “Blackout is very eclectic,” says Danny. “There are a lot of different styles and sounds on it. Some songs are more electronic-based, while others are heavier than anything we’ve done before.”

Touring Australia: A Dream Come True

As the band prepares for their first-ever Australian tour, Danny can’t hide his excitement. “We’re really looking forward to the sideshows in Melbourne and Sydney,” he says. “They’re smaller venues, and it’s going to be so much fun to play in more intimate settings. It’s a throwback to our early days when we played small shows with just a few people. And of course, we’re stoked about the festival gigs too. There’s nothing like playing on a big stage in front of a sea of people.”

Australia has been waiting patiently for From Ashes to New to make their debut, and with a packed schedule at Good Things Festival and a series of side shows, fans are in for a treat. For the band, it’s a long-overdue moment to connect with fans across the world who’ve supported them since the beginning.

While the band is currently enjoying the buzz of their Australian tour, Danny says they’re always looking ahead to the future. “We’re going to keep doing what feels right for us. The beauty of today’s music scene is that you can mix and match genres, and people are open to it. In the past, that might’ve been a risk, but now it feels like differences are embraced.”

This open-minded approach to songwriting and sound is exactly why From Ashes to New has found success. They’re not afraid to experiment with their sound, to cross genres, and to evolve with the times. As they continue to grow and experiment, the band remains committed to making music that resonates with their fans while staying true to their roots.

A Personal Touch: Getting to Know Danny

When asked about his favorite music moments, Danny is quick to mention Avenged Sevenfold, his all-time favorite band. “Playing a song with them on stage would be a dream come true,” he says. But it’s not just about the music for Danny—he’s also passionate about philosophy, fitness, and his love of Lost, his favorite TV show. “I can talk about philosophy and working out for hours,” he says with a laugh.

As for his personal style, Danny’s signature red hair is both a source of pride and a double-edged sword. “I love it, but I also hate it sometimes,” he admits. But the tattoo that stands out most for him is a tribute to basketball legend Kobe Bryant, whose impact on the world left a lasting impression.
