Interview by Dave Bruce

Have you always wanted to be a DJ? When did you get the creative dance mix bug?
To be honest, I didn’t expect it when I was like maybe 10, but the dream started when I was around 14 and discovered electronic music on YouTube. It all started with Skrillex and a very known YouTube channel called UKF!Briefly describe your journey to date.
It was a very long way up to now. I tried a lot of different genres, went through a few projects, but what I’m doing right now feels like the most „at home“ for me. I tried being in Bands, I had a DJ duo, but nothing really drives me as much as this project does right now.How would you describe your style? How does it differ from others?
I love it when it’s Bouncy! But then at the same time I need a drop to hit. I take a lot of Inspo from the German „Nu-Trance“ scene and what a lot of upcoming artists have been doing there recently. I take that Inspo and I think I succesfully turned it into something of my own.Which other DJ’s work, past or present, inspired you in the past, and also who does today?
Definitely Skrillex in the past! But there are countless ones that inspired me over the time. Right now in the last two years it was Bunt, Marlon Hoffstadt, as well as 2HOT2PLAY, these acts have been pushing boundaries in my opinion.Your latest single ‘Ex’s & Oh’s’ with Elle King has just been released! What’s it all about? Describe its origin and evolution.
So the song started out as a Club Tool for my sets, because it is actually a remix of Elle Kings original. I posted this to my TikTok and it just went off so we reached out to Elles team and they decided that we can release it officially, which was a big honor for me!Is there an EP or Album on the drawing board?
I’ve never been a big Album guy, but I’d love to do it at some point, so nothing planned right now but maybe sometime in the future. You have some Australian dates coming up? What are you looking forward to, and what can the fans expect?
Actually yes, I just landed in Australia and I’m super excited. It’s my second time now and I’m here for almost 3 weeks and so excited. I think I have a lot of people here who love my music so it’s a special feeling bringing the energy to down under! If you could perform with any music artist, Alive or Dead, who would you choose? And why?
I guess I’d have to go with Skrillex here, to be honest. I always loved how authentic he is. Just raw passion for music production, I always loved that. What are your long-term aspirations as a DJ and how are you progressing towards them?
I don’t think I have an „end goal“ to be honest, I just want to continue this process and see where it goes. For me it already feels unreal where it is right now, so I just wanna keep on pushing and see where it takes me.With that in mind, what piece of advice would you give to DJs starting out?
Social Media is as important as ever. I think you need to be on there but don’t get de-motivated by that, I think it’s still all about the music, the way you promote it has just changed. Also I think AI tools got very strong, I’m also still discovering that field but I think we all need to adapt to these tools and learn how to use them soon. What is the best thing about performing to a live audience? What’s been the career highlight so far?
I have had a few moments where people came up to me after my set and told me how this was the best night of their life, or how much my music helps them through difficult situations. This is what’s really special and makes me feel like it’s very important what I’m doing. And all of the energy! I cannot put it in words how that feels. Now for some quickfire questions to get a little personal:
