“I came out of the womb writing songs.”

That’s how Emeline — the fiercely talented Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter — describes her start in music when I sit down to chat with her. And honestly, after spending an hour talking to her, it’s hard not to believe it. There’s a raw passion and emotional clarity that radiates from her every word — traits that have helped her carve a distinctive lane in the modern pop landscape.

From humble beginnings in Rhode Island to viral TikTok success, a major label signing, a co-sign from Elton John, and standout syncs across Netflix and Apple TV, Emeline’s rise has been anything but ordinary. Yet beneath all the success lies a deep authenticity — a trait that’s quickly made her one of pop’s most exciting new voices.

The Journey: From Rhode Island to the World

“I probably put out my first single around 2020,” Emeline recalls. “But I’d been posting songs for years before that on YouTube. Some of those people are still with me, which is insane.”

After graduating high school, she packed up her life and moved to Los Angeles to chase the dream. “I actually did a presentation for my teachers on why moving to LA was the smartest career move for me,” she laughs. “I had graphs and everything!”

Emeline’s persistence paid off. After hustling her way into songwriting rooms, she began releasing her own material, eventually going viral on TikTok with a 40-million-view video that catapulted her into the spotlight. “I met with every major label. It was the craziest experience of my life.”

She signed with Capitol Records, where she spent three and a half years. But like many artists before her, the major-label ride came with turbulence. “I worked on a pop album for them,” she says. “Then my whole team got fired, and I got dropped. It was a lot. But honestly, I don’t regret any of it. It made me who I am.”

Finding Her Sound

When asked how she’d describe her music, Emeline doesn’t hesitate. “I’m blunt, but also sparkly,” she says. “There’s a vintage quality to my melodies, but lyrically I’m very direct. I like that crisp vocal in your ear so you really hear what I’m saying.”

She’s collaborated with producers from outside the usual pop sphere to keep her sound fresh — including R&B producer Solomon Fox, who helped craft her breakout track Cinderella’s Dead. “I love working with people who aren’t afraid to color outside the lines,” she says.

Her upcoming debut album, set for release in early 2026, promises her “peak pop girl” era — an 80s-inspired synth-pop record full of vulnerability, empowerment, and emotional storytelling.

Healing Through Music

Emeline’s lyrics often explore resilience, heartbreak, and self-discovery — particularly in the wake of loss. The new album was written over four years and shaped by a deeply personal tragedy. “I fell in love with a girl who passed away in 2021,” she shares softly. “It was the highest high and the lowest low at the same time. But she would’ve wanted me to keep going.”

That heartbreak — and the healing that followed — informs much of the record. “Music saved my life,” she admits. “We’re not supposed to keep pain inside our bodies. I hope these songs help other people heal too.”

Emotional Virgin — A New Chapter

Her latest single, Emotional Virgin, marks a turning point. “It’s my first love song,” Emeline smiles. “It’s about finally being in a place where I’m safe enough to open my heart to someone deserving.”

The song also doubles as a message to her fans — many of whom have found strength in her honesty. “A lot of them have been through tough relationships. I feel like I have to lead by example now. I want them to know you can love again — and do it in a healthy way.”

.

.

Influences and Inspiration

Growing up, Emeline found inspiration in powerful female voices. “Alanis Morissette taught me to be honest,” she says. “And early Taylor Swift — her melodies are incredible. But Alanis gave me permission to say what I really felt.”

Musically, her upcoming record also channels the timeless magic of ABBA. “They were a huge inspiration,” she beams. “Their simplicity was genius. Big inspo for this project.”

What’s Next

While Emeline’s debut album is on the horizon, she’s also dreaming even bigger. “I’d love to direct films, write scripts, score them — and of course, tour the world,” she says. “I’ve never left North America, so I want to see everywhere. I want to meet the fans who’ve supported me all this time.”

And yes — Australia is high on that list. “I’d love to come there,” she says. “I have mostly international fans, and Aussies seem so passionate about music.”
