Have you always wanted to be a musician?
No. I’ve always loved music, however I didn’t pick up the guitar until I was 14 and my first time on stage at about age 17 was when I decided I wanted to be a musician.
When did you get the song writing bug?
I have always loved the art of storytelling and to me that is really what songwriting is so I guess I have always been hooked.
How would you describe your sound?
Folk – Pop.
Why do you think people resonate with your music?
My songs are mostly stories and so when people are able to connect to the story they then are able to resonate with the music.
Which artist’s music and/or performance, past or present, inspires you today?
I remember seeing John Butler Trio for the first time and just being completely blown away. I had just started experimenting in Open tunings on the guitar and watching John transcend on the guitar was completely inspiring.
Your new single ‘Don’t Stop Dreaming’ has just been released! Describe its origin and evolution.
Yeah! This song was written post-comedown from my first big tour. The last show I played was one of my most memorable shows and I began writing the song backstage after the show whilst the headliner played their set. This song has since become a reminder to keep going and keep dreaming.
Is there an EP or Album on the drawing board?
Yeah absolutely. I’ve been writing and recording lots and so there will be an E.P this year.
Any tours or events coming up soon?
I’m just about to head out on my first Headline tour playing in my hometown of Warrnambool, Melbourne, Sydney & Brisbane.
What are you looking forward to, and what can the fans expect?
I just love playing shows but I have really been enjoying the recording process so fans can expect lots of new music very soon.

If you could perform with any music artist, Alive or Dead, who would you choose? And why?
Mumford & Sons – they are such an incredible band and I love their energy. Would be an absolute dream to play with them.
What are your long-term aspirations as a music artist and how are you progressing towards them?
My long term aspirations is to just keep working harder as a musician and try and create the best live show. I love songwriting and so to just continually try and write better songs.
With that in mind, what piece of advice would you give to an artist starting out?
Keep playing as much as you can, keep writing songs!
What is the best thing about performing to a live audience?
It’s just a buzz! if you can get the audience singing along, crying in the sad songs and dancing in the happy ones then that’s a good gig!
What’s been the career highlight so far?
I’ve been so fortunate being able to be on the road for the last 18 months so a career highlight has definitely been touring with The Pierce Brothers, The Dreggs etc.
