For any new fans, how did Glass Tides come together?
Glass Tides formed at the end of 2017, all of us have been friends since high school. We had always thought of starting a band together just for fun, but had always been busy with other projects.
Which musicians are your greatest inspiration?
We all draw from a wide range of muscisians but as a band some of our main influences would be, The Used, Bring Me The Horizon & Saosin.
What do you think is unique about your sound?
We write our songs from real lfe events, we feel like this makes our music very relatable. Ever since we started we have never tried to write our songs to fit a “trend” we are just putting together what comes naturally and outing our hearts into it.
Why do you think people resonate with your music?
Like we said above, writing about actual events that we go through and experience. We aren’t intentionally trying to write about specific things. Just what we feel.
Your new single Waste is out on the 11th of October. Can you tell us about the inspiration for this track?
Waste was an experimental track for us, we wanted to go heavier and delivery a song that you can just bang your head too. The song is about people trying to take advantage of you, but standing up for yourself and telling them where to go!
The full-length album is due for release in January 2020. What can people expect from this album?
We can not wait to release this. We have been sitting on the album for a little while now. It is a huge step up for us! In Between have a variety of everything, we dove into some slow tracks, some heavier and some of the classics we love writing.
.
.
You’ve released two EPs so far. How is it different to creating an album?
With the Album we felt like we have so much more room to play with, we were able to experiment a little more with different styles.
You’ve toured with some amazing bands, like Spiderbait and Thrice. What’s the best part about performing your music live?
We have so much fun playing shows, getting to interact with everyone, and to see people sing our lyrics back to us is just an unreal experience. Free beers are always a good time too!
If you could perform with anyone, who would it be and why? (Dead or alive)
The Beatles!
I think we would need to change up our set a bit, but they were just so ahead of their time, would be amazing to chat with them and just experience the show.
What’s the next achievement you would like to take on in your career?
Our next goal is to make it over to America for a tour!
What is the best thing about performing to a live audience?
The emotion that you are able to express to everyone in a live setting is unlike anything else! And see people sing your lyrics back has to be the best feeling!
What’s been the career highlight so far?
The response we have had from Spotify has been game changing for us, it allows us to share more and more music and we can see people are truly connecting with our songs.

GLASS TIDES
release hard-hitting new single
“WASTE”
+ intense music video
Adelaide metal-core five-piece Glass Tides are dropping their latest jaw-dropping single “Waste”, set to be released on Friday 11th October 2019. Inspired by the sounds of Bring Me The Horizon and The Used, the careening instrumentals in “Waste” produce brooding undertones to the explosive angst-filled anthem that slices through the listlessness of life. Alongside “Crawling” – their first single of 2019 released in August -, “Waste” serves as the perfect taster ahead of the release of the band’s full-length album release set for release on 17th January 2020.
The single’s accompanying lyric music video was also revealed today. Electrifying and brooding, the aesthetic stormy evening visuals of the video complement the elements of metal-core and overall message of the track, with the band stating, “We have all been screwed over in some way or another, “Waste” is our way of chucking the middle finger up & saying catch ya later”. This angsty piece is an example of Glass Tides’ popularity in the genre.
Glass Tides are a five-piece emo-rock ensemble from Adelaide, South Australia and are wasting no time to establish themselves nationwide by supporting artists such as Thrice, Circa Survive, Spiderbait, Body Jar, Young Lions and more. The group’s unique integration of both of post-hardcore and metal-core music accompanied by the passionate and raw vocals has ignited excitement around the world upon their establishment in late 2017. Along the way, the group has released two EPs, Thoughts (2017) & My Descend (2018), and will be dropping their first full-length in January 2020.
“Waste” is available to stream and purchase on all platforms now.
