IMMERSE

How did you all find each other and decide to share your musical talents as a group?
Myself and Archie are from the same town and have been in many bands together. We met Josh from playing shows with his band at the time and always thought he was incredibly talented. When we had the opportunity to get him on board, we knew he would be the perfect choice so hassled him until he joined! Ben was part of Josh’s other metal project and introduced him to us. IMMERSE was born out of that. We all bring something fresh to the band and everything comes together so easily.
How would you describe your sound? Why do you think people resonate with your music?
We combine heavy riffs with sculpted melodic sections. I’m really proud of how we blend our ideas and create a sound that comes across brilliantly live. I think people resonate with us because our honesty and passion is clear in everything we do. We don’t want to follow the crowd and the music we make reflects our favourite collection of sounds that you wouldn’t expect to coincide together. When we play live, people know this means everything to us.
Which artist’s music and/or performance, past or present, inspires you today?
Watching The 1975 headline Reading & Leeds 2019 was epic. Matt really knows how to work the crowd and they just look so cool as a unit. Opening with ‘People’ was unbelievable. They released it the day before the show but I held out to listen to it for the first time during their set. Will never forget that moment.

Your new single has just been released! Describe its origin and evolution.
Here’s Hoping was one of the first songs we wrote after our debut album (Suffer). It came together so naturally. I think it’s a song that represents our sound perfectly with a nice balance of melodies and riffs. Lyrically, the song is about realising someone’s true colours and cutting them out of your life. There’s nothing worse than consistent negativity!
Is there an EP or Album on the drawing board?
Our latest singles ’23/19’ & ‘Here’s Hoping’ are part of an upcoming release. Can’t say much more than that at the moment!
Any tours or events coming up soon? What are you looking forward to, and what can the fans expect?
We have recently announced a UK headline tour for early next year! Obviously this is a difficult year for live music so we’re working hard on creating an exciting new live set and special projects for our fans. All I can say is that there is plenty more new music coming out this year…

If you could perform with any music artist, Alive or Dead, who would you choose? And why?
Performing with Oasis would be insane. They are the kings of rock in my eyes and ‘(What’s The Story) Morning Glory?’ is one of the greatest albums of all time. I think Liam Gallagher would kick us off stage after half a song though haha
Do you have any long-term aspirations as a music artist?
We would love to play the main stage at Download Festival & Reading/Leeds Festival one day. I think that would be a massive achievement for us and an emotional experience! I’ve been going to those festivals since I was 16 years old and always dreamed of playing on the big stages with my favourite artists. I really believe that we will get there. Opportunities to collaborate with other artists is something I’d like to do in the near future too.
What is the best thing about performing to a live audience? What’s been the career highlight so far?
Playing songs live that you’ve spent so much time on creating is the best feeling. Hearing people sing the words and genuinely loving the show is priceless. It’s rewarding chatting to fans and the other bands after an epic show. My favourite show we’ve played was at the Astra Stube in Hamburg. It’s a relatively small venue but we played to a packed room and everyone was getting involved! There were mosh pits, sing-alongs and plenty of beer in the air. We love Germany!

IMMERSE
release new single
‘HERE’S HOPING’
Straight from the heart of Bristol, one of the epicentres of creativity in the UK, IMMERSE are a band that bring hope for better days. The post-hardcore quartet lay out all the pain, disparity and fears that come with being human. But it’s not all gloom; the band confronts these feelings head on to generate positivity and optimism – “These are unavoidable rights of passage that everyone can relate to. It’s how you confront them and let them affect you that will make you who you are”. There is a sense of unity as the band battles issues together with their fans. Immerse have justified their ever-growing presence in the UK music scene, playing shows around the UK with the likes of Holding Absence, Hacktivist and more. Their debut album has already achieved over 1 million streams. The quartet have all experienced dark times in their lives and implore you to “Remember that you are never alone!”. Teeth gritting riffs, soaring choruses and passionate live performances have won them a loyal fanbase which is destined to keep on growing. With their eyes set firmly on the top, these four lads are set to solidify their place in history. IMMERSE WITH US.
UK based melodic hardcore band Immerse release new single ’Here’s Hoping’ on 3rd July 2020. The track compliments a full music video and showcases the band at their very best. Throughout the campaign the band have already had support from Rock Sound, Metal Hammer, Kerrang, Total Rock Radio, Dead Press, Gig Radar, BBC, Dreambound (reaching 10,000 views in under a week), Moshville Times, and many more respected publications.
Guitarist Tim Brown explains – ‘Here’s Hoping was one of the first songs written after our debut album ‘Suffer’. Writing this song felt really natural and the structure remained consistent throughout the lyrical process (which is rare!). Archie was going through a difficult friendship at the time which helped fuel his lyrics. We all knew it would be a strong single that captured our sound perfectly. [Fun Fact: The second verse was actually created from a pile of old riffs that Tim had never used!]. We’re so excited to get this one out for our fans to enjoy. This song was born to be huge live and get the crowd singing along!’
The band have a busy touring schedule going into 2021 and look forward to doing what they do best; playing shows up and down the UK.
