Have you always wanted to be a musician? When did you get the song writing bug?
Hmm not always a musician or artist, but I guess I always wanted to write songs and create stuff. I would say the songwriting bug got me at like 14 ish, when I realized I could put words on chords and make some for me that meant some to me!

How would you describe your sound? Why do you think people resonate with your music?
I have o Idea if anyone does and if so why haha , but my sound is something thats constantly evolving I would say. Or anyway I would like it to be constantly moving places. Inspiration to me is like a flowing ting that goes through many styles and artists and so on so I dont wanna be locked down with one sound… BUT if I have to I would probs say, Tallest man on earth, Bruno Mars, The 1975 and Mac demarco – thats the vibe on whats out right now anyway. And the new stuff coming would add some Anderson Paak and Her´s I guess. Also some Boy pablo bedroom vibes.

Which artist’s music and/or performance, past or present, inspires you today?
So yeah I would say most artists I listen to and watch are really good at building a cool stage-plot and make shit happen live, as in movement and excitement so thats what im trying at too. Id say anything with Bruno Mars and the 1975, conceptually, visually, entertainmentwise, topshelf shit!

Your new single has just been released! Describe its origin and evolution.
ITs a soul-pop-Rnb- kinda vibe, check out the 1975 meets Bruno MArs meets dark lyrics :D.
ITs a song about hibernation, wasting time to feel less while u hope the world with all the goals, ambitions and demands is still there when u get out.
IT came about while I was doing just that, hiding away from myself, so when I got out of that kinda dark place I had to record it.
The amazing Marcus Forsgren did the mix and recording at Paradiso Studio and its got my insanely cool band on it too, horns and all!

Is there an EP or Album on the drawing board?
I wanna do more songs, and collect them in an EP or an album definitely, but I got so many different vibes coming up so im not sure if its gonna be 1 ep or like 2 :D or like an album with 2 parts?

If you could perform with any music artist, Alive or Dead, who would you choose? And why?
Probably Whitney Houston cause her voice was insane – I could do like bvs on her stuff…. that would be kinda mad!

Do you have any long-term aspirations as a music artist?
To make an album and tour the world! Super-chiche maybe but thats my goal so far :).

What is the best thing about performing to a live audience? What’s been the career highlight so far?
Connection, sharing energy and vibes on shit I wrote, that means something to me,  seeing how it resonates or works with people. Powerful stuff. Career highlights so far Idk, I just want to play and do cool stuff but we played some pretty vibey shows last year at different festivals and hopefully this summer is gonna get even better.

About JANOS

Swedish born artist JANOS spends his time between the streets and pubs of Oslo and London. Fusing beautiful pop melodies, soulful vocals and explosive energy, the pop-punk soul artist delivers listeners with a fresh, contemporary sound. From fragile, heartfelt ballads to funky upbeat anthems, JANOS tells a story relating to the highs and lows of our generation.

JANOS’ message is one of strength and self-empowerment. After years of performing with other bands, the Swedish artist finally took the leap to go it alone, setting him free to create the music that is true to who he is. With the desire to mix organic sounds with elements of R&B, pop and rock, JANOS was able to create an entirely unique sound. Inspired by the likes of Daft Punk, Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak, JANOS has crafted an infectious and dance-worthy sound, rich with colour and oozing with euphoric surges.

The musician starts 2020 off with a new release, incorporating elements of JANOS’ new found love for jazz and soul. The infectious ‘Sicky/Sticky’ which has been a huge crowd pleaser at live performances for it’s uplifting feel good vibe, is the first track to be recorded with a horn section. The big, bold brass sound, along with soulful vocals and funky guitars, creates the ultimate groove-fuelled track. ‘Sicky/Sticky’ narrates trying to hide from your worries with drugs and alcohol, while still hoping it’s not too late to reach your dreams.

JANOS has been applauded by fans and critics across the globe, receiving notoriety from prestigious publications and renowned radio stations including the BBC. 2020 is set to be an exciting year for this artist on the rise.
