So, how long have you been a DJ? And when did you decide that was something you wanted to pursue?
Music has been a part of my life journey for as long as I remember but DJing was never really in the picture. I was always the friend with the fresh tracks no one had heard yet, and the go to guy with the aux cord at parties… but it didn’t really pop off career-wise until about two years ago when I picked up my first club gig.

But of course, you are not just a DJ! You also founded two record labels, Dough Related Productions and Heart 8 Records. How did they come about?
Haha yeah, that was another crazy organic thing for me too. It originally started out as me helping out a best friend, next minute we have a bunch of great artists and an incredible team of great people.

What does it even take to start a record label? What has that process been like for you?
Wow, definitely not an easy question to answer. I hit the ground running with it and I’ve just kind of done things as they’ve needed doing. It’s a forever learning process but it has been an incredible journey so far, I actually love it.

How would you describe your career trajectory at the moment?
Exceptionally exponential. I look back at this last year and cannot believe what I’ve achieved since then. And the crazy thing is if you asked me that question this time last year I would have said the same thing. I mean I’m in LA at the moment because of music, its crazy.

Wow LA, what have you been up to over there?
MeetingsGigs. Networking. Growing. Building. Learning.

Sounds exciting! Will you be basing yourself there in future, or was this a temporary move?
I’ll be back and forth for the time being.

Where do you hope to be in a years time? Do you have any longer-term aspirations in the music industry?
I’ll either be back in LA or touring. Or back home from doing either of those. I never really plan out the future or set goals or anything, I just keep pushing and moving forward and making sure everything I do is better than the last.

Who inspires you? Where do you find the motivation and inspiration to achieve your goals?
I’m constantly inspired. Music inspires me. My team inspires me. People I met, stories I hear. I’m motivated by success and I am a crazy perfectionist so I think it just drives me more.

If you could DJ any festival, event or location in the world, where would you go?
Haha oh man, who knows. I don’t set goals but I mean I keep ticking these “would be cool” boxes. Like before I ever started I thought DJ’ing at Metro City would be cool, then I did it. Then it was playing over east, then One Day Sundays, then La Favela Bali, then Playhouse Hollywood (which I just played last month!). All of these things felt so unachievable when they were first thoughts, so I never wrote them down or told anybody. Now I’m living it.

Is there anything else you want people to know about you? Or the things you are working on at the moment?
Wow yes. A lot of projects in the works! Can’t say a lot just now. But I will be headlining CAKE Block Party this weekend (June 2nd) which will definitely sell out, so if you’re in Perth make sure you cop tickets quick for that!

Oh, and finally I just dropped a new mix online which is an exclusive for the CAKE Block Party also so go check that out too!
