Shaquira: Hi, I’m Shaquira lovely to meet you.
Jens: Shaquira like Shakira Shakira

Shaquira: Yeah, like the singer.
Jens: that’s cool

Shaquira: Thanks, so Where abouts in the world are you today?
Jens : Where in the world?I’m back home in Sweden at the moment, in between some shows and right now it’s a rain in Sweden.So I can’t wait to go down to Australia.

Shaquira: Hopefully it’s nice and warm when you get here.
Jens : Yeah, I hope so.

Shaquira: So this will be your first time touring Australia.How do you feel about that?
Jens : We’re so excited, all of us.We were planning on doing a tour in 2020 that got canceled, so it feels like it actually feels like sort of a revenge now.So we’re going to hit it hard.It’s going to be so exciting.

Shaquira: And I see you’ve got some pretty big shows happening down here.What are you looking forward to most when you get to Australia?
Jens : Meeting up with our Aussie fans and doing it together with Heat is a privilege because they are such a good live band, which when you play with people that are really good, you tend to be even better yourself.I think it will be a really cool package.

Shaquira: Definitely.
Jens : Yeah.

Shaquira: So, for new listeners, how would you describe your music?
Jens : We all grew up listening to all these great 80s hard rock bands, of course, also whatever, but mainly the big 80s bands.So Crazy Lixx is like a merge of the best of the best, I’d say, without making it.A parody we don’t dress out and making fun of it, but we do it with a bit humor in it, obviously.But I think we are the band that we would like to listen to.

Shaquira: And who would you say your biggest influencers are?
Jens : It’s the big ones. Kiss and iron Maiden and Alice Cooper and all those classic bands.

Shaquira: Awesome, so your latest album is Street Lethal.How did that come about?
Jens : It was actually made during the Pandemic because when that hit in 2020, obviously all the tour plans just erased and we were supposed to start working on the albuma bit later, but when everything got canceled, we just rearranged and start working on the album instead.So for once we had a little more time to work on the album.We are doing mostly almost everything on our own, producing it and such and recording it.We had time just to figuring out in what direction we wanted to do thealbum and theme wise and which songs, etc.So I think we used the time during the Pandemic pretty wisefully.

Shaquira: Nice. So what’s your favorite song from this album, would you say?
Jens : My favorite?I would actually say the song In The Middle of Nothing And it’s a shame because we don’t play it live.I really like when songs not only sketchy but has like a nice groove to it. Being a bass player, I like that and I can really see myself dancing to that one.So maybe one day we could do it live also nice.

Shaquira: So how did you get started in the music industry?
Jens : Well, growing up in Sweden almost everybody has music classes in school and not everyone, but most kids start playing an instrument even if they just play it a little and then hates it.But I started playing drums when I was very young and then I started to play guitar instead and then finally Ended up playing the bass so I just had numerous of bands trying to play and such and when I came acrossI was actually a fan of Crazy Lixx when I was young and then I came across them.So I joined the band it’s ten years ago today.

Shaquira: Wow, that’s exciting.Congratulations.
Jens : Thanks.

Shaquira: a nice little Anniversary there
Jens : Yeah. So I think there hasn’t been a bigger plan then I just love playing music and playing in band. I love being in a band so I don’t want to be just a free bass player doing bits and pieces with everyone.I like the band thing, You have your own us against the world.Yeah.

Shaquira: That’s cool.And I see you’re a dad, to two beautiful children.Does Touring get tough sometimes?
Jens : it does, yeah.But it’s tough to be home as well.

Shaquira: I’ve got a three year old, I know what it’s like.
.Jens :Yeah exactly, no they are amazing and I wouldn’t think it would be that hard actually but as soon as you leave you want to talk to them, you miss them instantly.

Shaquira: Have they seen you perform live before?
Jens : Yeah, they are just four and two years old,so my four year old actually watched our show one week ago here back in Sweden and that’s her first show and I think she liked it.

Shaquira: Do you think she’s going to take after dad?
Jens : I think so, I hope so.It doesn’t have to be by playing music, but by being creative and finding your own purpose.Even if it doesn’t have to be in music or it can be whatever, but being passionate about something, I see that in them already.They are really passionate.

Shaquira: That’s really good.
Jens : Yeah.

Shaquira: What’s the craziest thing that you’ve ever had a fan say or do at a show?
Jens : Well actually there’s old women can be very detailed in what their purpose of going out is.Sometimes I think of it, it would be really inappropriate if I was a girl and they were an old guy then it would be really inappropriate.But I just laugh at it, it’s just fun.

Shaquira: You bring back good memories, I’m sure.
Jens : Yeah, But I love people coming up and a lot of our fans grew up in the 80s and was listening to the same music as we are inspired by and a lot of people are telling us oh I was just like you, You look like me when I was younger and I also had a band and it’s so cool to see all the memories coming back and for me it’s really cool being a part of that. I think that’s maybe the boring answer, but it feels really good when you can wake someone’s memories up again.

Shaquira: It looks like you enjoy everything you do a lot, very passionate.
Jens : Yeah, I love and playing live and touring is just so much fun.Doing it with your best buddies and playing music and meet people who enjoy it.I don’t see a downside of it, actually.

Shaquira: And some weirder questions. if you were stranded on an island and you had to choose one musician to be stranded with, who would it be?You can choose anyone.
Jens : Yeah, it’s always Paul Stanley.

Shaquira: Don’t blame you there. And if you had to choose one food to survive on on that island, what would it be?
Jens : One food? aww, that’s harder but grilled chicken, maybe.

Shaquira: Yumm. Well, they are all the questions I have for tonight.We absolutely smashed through those, thank you.I really appreciate your time.

H.E.A.T and CRAZY LIXX
touring Australia in September

Scandinavia heads down under as Silverback Touring bring you two of Sweden’s finest Hard Rock exports H.E.A.T and CRAZY LIXX. This will be the first Australian Tour for both bands and the action takes place in September 2022.

Over the last several years H.E.A.T have established themselves as one of the leading bands in the melodic rock scene, both in their homeland Sweden and internationally. They have toured and performed front of thousands and thousands of fans around the world.

In April 2008, their self-titled debut album was released and became a massive vitamin injection for the genre and instantly received accolades from both fans and critics worldwide. During the Covid period, the band experienced a shift in personnel with original vocalist, Kenny Leckremo, returning to the fold replacing Erik Gronwoll. The band has a new album, Force Majeure, releasing on 5 August just in time for their Aussie visit.
