Have you always been a rap duo, or did you start off as individual rappers?
– We have always rapped solo growing up but when we decided to come out on the scene and make legit tracks we became a duo and it’s been Pistol Pete & Enzo from there

How did you first join forces to become Pistol Pete & Enzo?
– We are both brothers by blood and we both love rap and rapping so that’s how it all came about

For anyone who is new to your music, what song would you suggest they listen to first?
– We would encourage them to listen to as much of our music as they can as one song wouldn’t be enough

How would you describe the unique sound of Pistol Pete & Enzo? What do you think you bring to the Aussie rap scene?
– Our sound is original and there’s no one on the scene who can create what we do. We bring all the elements of rap in our craft and that’s what makes us different and unique from the whole aus scene

You have just released your new single, also called ‘The Top’. Can you share the concept or inspiration behind the song?
– The concept of our track ‘The Top’ is that a lot of people don’t want to see you succeed but you gotta push through that negativity and work hard for where you want to be and this relates to a lot of situations in life

.

.

How does this single evolve from your previous work?
– Everything about this track is just another step up for us as we continue to better ourselves as Men and artists the music we make also grows with us

How do you showcase your abilities as rappers on this song, perhaps even more than you ever have before?
– In this track we do our signature ‘back to back’ style which we have made popular and perfected through our experience over the years.

What does ‘The Top’ mean to you? What do you hope listeners and fans will take away from the song?
– For us it means chasing your dreams and not letting anything stop you and we hope all our fans receive this message and get inspired to also chase their dreams as well

You have also made a music video for ‘The Top’! What was it like to film the video? Do you enjoy the process of making music videos?
– This music video was hectic to make with the team and was probably our most organised project we’ve worked on, Usually it’s abit of a headache for us organising everything and making sure people and props and locations are all set, but this one everything ran smooth and the video came out even better

.

.

You have a lot of fans, but it seems you have also copped your fair share of criticism, as does probably anyone who is becoming more successful! Tall poppy syndrome. What would you say to those who are critical of you or your music?
– The hate and negativity just makes us work harder.

Of all the songs you have written over the years, is there one that you are especially proud of writing? Or perhaps one that’s lyrics are especially close to your heart?
– We are proud of all our music but if there is one track right now that is close to our heart it would have to be ‘On My Feet’ from our EP ‘Frontrow’ it is a tribute to our cousin Fale who passed away in 2019 and this track will always have a special place in both our hearts.

Where do you find the inspiration to write music? How much of your own life experience do you use to write songs?
– We find the inspiration from our everyday lives if we rap about it it’s because we’ve been through it or been around it

.

.

If you could collaborate with any rapper or musician (Alive or Dead), who would you
 choose? And why?
– We both have a different taste in the music we both listen to so this ones a hard one and finding only one artist makes it even harder but one artist we can both agree that we would one day want to collaborate with would have to be Meek Mill as he’s one of the best in the game and has influenced and inspired us a lot

How have you seen the rap scene in Australia grow and change over the years?
– It’s grown so much since when we first jumped on the scene and it’s awesome to just be apart of it as well

Is there anything you wish was different, or perhaps a change you hope to see in the future of Aussie rap?
– We just want to see the scene keep growing

Where do you see yourselves in the music business in three years time?
– On Top

Do you have any longer-term goals or aspirations in your music career?
– To be on top of the game

with new single
‘THE TOP’

Biordi Music is proud to present Pistol Pete & Enzo’s first new release under their label ‘The Top’. The new single, which goes by the same title – ‘The Top’ – is out now and is the beginning of a new journey for the Australian rap duo, who have returned harder and stronger than ever.

Listen HERE

Pistol Pete & Enzo are well known within the industry for their raw and lyrical bars and ‘The Top’ remains true to their style while also showcasing a more diversified version of themselves. Through the new single it is evident that one of their greatest strengths in the Rap Game is the use of word play. From one-liner puns such as “Put ‘em on the board cause they’re never gonna notice (know this)” to references from renown Disney movies, “if they’re lying (lion) about the king then they can get scarred,” the duo have no trouble piecing together sophisticated and unique lyrics. ‘The Top’ delivers a strong message of resilience and perseverance, an insight to their life and come-up as they make a significant return to the scene.

Pistol Pete & Enzo say, “’The Top’ is a track that showcases our versatilities in the current Australian rap game. Being in this game for some time now we’ve copped lot of love but also a lot of hate. In this track we are stating that ‘The Top’ is where we are heading regardless. This track is uplifting and has a feel-good vibe, but at the same time we stay true to our ways and we still talk our talk. ‘The Top’ is just the start of our new journey and in due time we will be there!”

‘The Top’ is released through Biordi Music, written by Pistol Pete & Enzo and produced by RELYT.
