Have you always wanted to be a musician? When did you start writing music?
I have always loved music but it wasn’t until a couple of years ago that I thought it could actually be my career. I struggled to write music for a long time because I had the wrong approach… when I realised how writing worked for me it felt like I’d unlocked a secret power within myself haha. Being a self taught guitarist has helped me to improvise and write music as well.

Which music did you grow up listening to? How has it influenced your current style?
I listened to the classics! The Beatles, The Eagles, Billy Joel, Deep Purple, Cat Stevens, Fleetwood Mac, Queen. It wasn’t until late primary school that I really branched out into modern pop culture. It’s definitely influenced me in a way that I value musicianship and lyrics more than I guess most people would.

How would you describe your sound?
Constantly evolving. Previously it has been singer songwriter / indie folk but now I’m starting to add more production to my music.

Why do you think people resonate with your music?
I think I have an authentic, honest, storytelling style of writing and people like that. I’ve never really been asked that question so I’ve never really thought about it! The things I write about are emotions that I would say everyone has… I guess my way of expressing it resonates with some people more than others.

Your new single ‘Little Boy’ has just been released! Describe its origin and evolution.
I wrote the guitar riff and the first verse and chorus one night when I couldn’t sleep. There was so going on at the time and a lot of hype around my time on The Voice AU in 2018, it kinda just came out. I wrote the rest of it a year later in Nashville TN in my airbnb. It’s crazy that I’ve only just released it now… I actually re-recorded it 3 times until I was happy with it.

Do you have more new music in the works?
Yes I do! I’m actually really really really excited about my next few releases which will form a more pop styled EP.

Do you have any shows/tours coming up? What are you looking forward to, and what can the fans expect?
I’m touring to Melbourne and Sydney in July!! It will be my first time performing there so I’m both excited and nervous for it! I also have some shows coming up in Brisbane and Sunshine Coast.

If you could perform with any music artist, Alive or Dead, who would you choose? And why?
There are so many answers to this question, I mean imagine performing with Michael Jackson haha! I would love to perform with Ed Sheeran one day.

What’s next for you in the near future?
A new release in June with a song called “Euphoria”. I’ve already recorded it and it’s 100% the best song I’ve ever recorded… the music video is half done as well.

What are your longer-term aspirations?
To be a world touring artist and to perform on some of the biggest stages around the world.

What is the best thing about performing to a live audience?
The connection, it’s kinda indescribable.

Finally, a few questions for some quick answers – FAVOURITE:
Album – “x” – Ed Sheeran
Artist – Ed Sheeran
Movie – Lord of the Rings

Venue to play – Anywhere where people are listening
