Have you always wanted to be a Singer? When did you get the song writing bug?
Since I could walk, all I wanted was to be a musician. I remember sitting in front of the TV each and every weekend to watch RAGE, I refused to wear anything but leopard print and told my parents my name was Shania. I have also written since primary school, it started off as poems and went from there. My aunty and uncle have written many scripts for well known Australian TV series so I guess that’s where it came from!

How would you describe your sound? Why do you think people resonate with your music?
I would describe my sound as urban, fun and poppy. I think people resonate with my music because the songs are catchy, relatable and current!

Which artist’s music and/or performance, past or present, inspires you today?
That is such a tough one, Beyonce inspires me day in day out for her drive, motivation and the creative control she has over her projects. She is strong and fierce, two qualities I love most in a woman. For my own music, I like draw from J Lo, Tinashe, Fifth Harmony (past) and even Little Mix.

Your new single: ‘Me and You’ was just released! Describe its origin and evolution.
Yes Me and You is currently out on all digital platforms right in time for Spring! It’s a catchy summer vibe that describes romance, travelling and a whole lot of fun. Tezz did an amazing job with helping me bring the concept alive.

Any tours or events coming up soon? What are you looking forward to, and what can the fans expect?
I wish there were some events coming up soon! Due to being in a stage four lockdown this has made everything just so much harder. Once Victoria loosens its restrictions, I cant wait to perform this single live and also shoot the music video.

If you could perform with any music artist, Alive or Dead, who would you choose? And why?
In terms of collaborating on a track, it would be Chris Brown. He is talented beyond words and such an incredible performer overall.

Do you have any long-term aspirations as a music artist?
One of my long term aspirations is to start my own dance/active wear range along with a few other side businesses. You can never have enough streams of income!

Aussie Pop & R&B artist
SAMARA
releases new single
‘ME AND YOU’

Australian born, contemporary Pop / R&B singer Samara returns with her latest single for 2020: ‘Me and You’ (following up her successful and recent single: ‘Pull Up’).

Samara has banded together with another ‘A Class’ team, including her all-time favourite producer: Eric Erickson, alongside Daniel Williams, Excel Beats, song-writing genius Tezz Morgan, Ryan Streeter and Olivia Escuyos.  This colourful and vibrant record was released on September 10 (Samara’s birthday) as a reminder that regardless of the current situation, there is always something to celebrate.

After enduring COVID-19 and still suffering from lingering symptoms four months later, Samara’s resilience is like no other.  She has decided to put all her focus into capturing the authentic energy of great pop music.  Adding a blend of personal lyrics that bring a meaningful twist to her songs, Samara continues this theme in her latest song.  At the same time, her songs are fun, easy to relate to and no doubt have been filled with some amazingly catchy arrangements.

Outside of her passion for music, this talented singer has certainly been through the hoops.  Not only has she lost both of her parents to cancer (with her Dad passing as recently as last November) the Melbourne Pop Singer, nonetheless, is a strong woman who refuses to give up on her dreams and her life.  This incredibly resilient Artist is all about using her music as a way to share her feelings and to communicate something deeper to her audience.  Samara is an abundance of light, energy and strength, whose songs are incredibly easy to relate to for listeners from all walks of life.
