Have you always wanted to be an artist? When did you get the song writing bug?
I always loved music and knew I wanted to perform my own songs, but it took me writing a bunch of music and developing my sound/lyrics to figure out what kind of artist I wanted to be. I really dove into songwriting more seriously in 2020 and my love for it has just grown since then. I still often write in solitude, but also love collaborating and working with other songwriters has helped me improve hugely.
Briefly describe your journey to date since the beginning back in 2021.
It’s been a journey! Technically, my release journey began in 2021, however, I’d say I’ve reinvented myself quite a bit since then, not only my sound but my values and everything have changed just based on experience and growing up. I took a hiatus from releasing music last year to earlier this year to focus on songwriting and finding my sound production wise.
How would you describe your sound? Why do you think fans resonate with your music?
My sound is pop music that’s inspired by a bunch of different influences and genres, particularly funk/rnb. My latest two singles are a great indication of what fans can expect from me moving forward. I want to create music that’s both a unique listening experience and also something we can create memories with in a live context. I spend a lot of time on each song, perfecting it and making it the best that it can be, with the hope that the finished product impacts the listener, and resonates that way with fans. It’s an exciting time and I’m gaining new listeners each day discovering these songs so I’m super happy that I’ll be able to keep the tunes coming!

Which artist’s music and/or performance, past or present, inspires you today?
There’s so many inspirations for me! I’m inspired by artists around me here in Melbourne, as well as big international acts. At the moment I’ve been drawing a lot of inspiration from Victoria Monét’s music! A performance I always rewatch when needing inspiration/to get hyped up is Beyonce’s Superbowl Halftime Show from 2013.
Your second single for 2024, ‘ENERGY’, has just been released! Describe its origin and evolution.
I wrote ‘ENERGY’ back in 2022, with Producer Mark Benedicto (PKA New Haven), who has worked with the likes of Imagine Dragons and Martin Garrix. I’d say this was the first funk-pop song that I wrote, and it kind of set the tone for a lot of my writing from then on. The inspiration behind the hook came from the recent spike in popularity of the phrase “main character” in memes & tiktok videos. I loved that it was a light hearted way of saying we all need to romanticise the f*k out of our life to enjoy it in this day and age, where we are constantly comparing ourselves to a highlight reel on social media. This song is basically one big affirmation – it’s all about self-worth, holding your own, loving yourself and respecting your boundaries to leave you with only the best and highest energetic vibrations. Energy is everything, having good self-loving energy allows you to manifest so many good things into your life, and this song is a constant reminder of that for me.
Is there an EP or ALBUM on the drawing board?
There is! Stay tuned this year!

Are there any tours/events are coming up? What are you looking forward to, and what can the fans expect?
I will have some announcements coming in the next few months regarding upcoming live events/shows! Fans can expect to see more of me, especially here in my hometime Melbourne.
If you could perform with any music artist, Alive or Dead, who would you choose? And why?
This is a very hard question!! Most of the popstars I have grown up with are still alive, can I say Hannah Montana?!!!! Miley but she has to be dressed as Hannah.
What is the best thing about performing to a live audience? What’s been the career highlight so far?
The best thing about performing to a live audience is creating an experience, then and there in that moment. Everyone is living their own lives but your journeys are connected for that time so just make the most of it, get people involved, make it feel like an experience that leaves an impression moving forward.
I feel like I’m living the highlight right now, releasing music I love and getting to perform it live, taking the wins as they come, big or small and just building with each new song.
What are your long-term aspirations as a music artist and how are you progressing towards them? With that in mind, what piece of advice would you give to an artist starting out?
I aspire to be able to visit cities around the world and have the opportunity to perform for people who love my music. To be able to do that I know I need to put out a lot more music, collaborate and build that audience, who I know is out there, and I’m putting in the work!
A piece of advice for artists starting out is don’t get discouraged by things not popping off straight away, real artist development takes years, so just keep going and improving!
