Interview with
TROUSDALE (22nd September 2025)
Interview by Dave Bruce
It’s Dave here from Amnplify, and this time I had the pleasure of chatting with the wonderfully talented trio Trousdale. If you don’t know them yet, you soon will. With their trademark harmonies, genre-bending sound, and a genuine bond that shines both on and off the stage, they’re a band on the rise — and they’re heading to Australia and New Zealand this November.
Where it all began
The Trousdale story goes back 11 years to their time at USC in Los Angeles, where the three met while studying music.
“We were 17 and 18, writing and playing live, but not really recording at first,” they recalled. “After a break post-college, we came back together seriously in 2019 — then COVID hit. That’s when we started recording and producing our own music, and things really started to click.”
What could have been a setback actually became a springboard, giving the band the space to refine their sound and set themselves on a new path.

The Trousdale sound
Trousdale describe their music as “harmony-based folk pop rock” — though they prefer to call themselves genreless.
“We dip our toe in a lot of different genres, but harmonies always unite us.”
And it’s those harmonies, combined with an authenticity rooted in real friendship, that resonate with their fans. They’re not trying to be “too cool” or chase numbers online — they simply want to connect. Or, as they once put it: “We’re not too cool to be your friend.”
Their inspirations speak volumes too: Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles, Joni Mitchell, Paul Simon, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, and even Bruce Springsteen — timeless artists whose music has endured across generations.

Growing Pains
The band’s latest album, Growing Pains, dropped in April 2025. It captures not only the evolution of their sound but also their personal growth as individuals and as a band.
“It’s about all the changes we’ve gone through — lessons about ourselves, about each other, about love, heartbreak, and what it means to be at this stage in our careers.”
Signature tracks include “Growing Pains,” “Over and Over,” “Want Me Back,” “Secondhand Smoke,” and “Lonely Night.”
The music video for Growing Pains even saw the trio step into a boxing ring — though, as they laughed, not all of them took to the training equally.
Career highlights and what’s next
Among their many achievements so far, one standout moment was playing the legendary Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, where they received a standing ovation. Another recent high was appearing on The Kelly Clarkson Show, a dream come true given their admiration for her artistry.
But Trousdale aren’t slowing down. They revealed that they’re already back in the studio, recording vocals for new material, with another album on the horizon for 2026.

Touring Australia & New Zealand
This November, Trousdale will be bringing their harmonies down under, with three Australian shows and a stop in New Zealand:
Melbourne – The Espy
Sydney – Oxford Art Factory
Brisbane – Crowbar
Auckland – The Tuning ForkFor two of the members, it’ll be their very first trip to Australia — and their first ever to New Zealand.
“We’re so excited to finally meet fans there and to see these places we’ve always wanted to go. To be going because of the band makes it even more special.”
Looking forward
Long-term, Trousdale’s vision is clear: to keep growing, to play bigger spaces, and to create safe, inclusive environments where fans can be themselves.
And if their bond, their harmonies, and their authenticity are anything to go by, they’ll be doing exactly that for years to come.
