Multi-platinum and award-winning artist VASSY teams up with fellow ARIA chart-toppers & Aussie duo Bonka for their latest dance-pop offering: ‘Chase.’ Riding off the back of 3 x consecutive Beatport #1 singles, the Bonka vibes are in full effect.  VASSY comes in hot from her previous #1 Dance singles including: #1 global hit ‘Bad,’ her anthem with David Guetta and Showtek which racked up over two billion streams and became a certified global hit in over twenty countries.  Hot off the press JaySounds & Kondo take it to the clubs with their tech house refits which are potential chart-breakers in their own rights.

Have you always wanted to be a Singer? When did you get the song writing bug?
I knew from the age of seven actually I was kicked out of school choir and I was told I didn’t have the talent lol proved them wrong.

How would you describe your sound? Why do you think people resonate with your music?
I think I’m trying to speak and write from a place of truth just as authentic as possible but with soul and then with the production I just tried to do what’s good for the song. I’m not sure but thank God people have related I think I keep my lyrics universal to some degree so that each listener can identify and resonate with the lyrics in their own way not trying to take too much away from them by making it too specific.

Which artist’s music and/or performance, past or present, inspires you today?
I was inspired by Billie Holiday she was the reason I started singing to this day her music the way she sings still inspires me even though obviously I’m in a very different style and genre but I think it’s just the emotion in her voice I tried to evoke that in all my material.

Your new Single ‘Chase’ with Bonka has just been released! Describe its origin and evolution. 
I had written chase a while ago I’ve always wanted to work with the boys I think they’re fantastic and I miss Australia I played it to them and they loved it I described The direction I had in mind and they delivered I mean they nailed it there so good so talented I’m so happy we got to do this together I’m proud as we are all Australians to work on such a special record together I feel that they have really given it the magic that I was looking for.

Will you guys have another release together in the future?
Yes I think so I would love to do another one with the boys I think we have great chemistry together and I look forward to creating new songs with them.

Any tours or events coming up soon? What are you looking forward to and what can the fans expect?
Yes I finally booked shows my first one was in Texas and now I have to show is coming up in a few weeks and a couple others over the summer all in America at the moment as I still can’t cross the borders to come to Australia but hopefully soon fingers crossed.

If you could perform with any music artist, Alive or Dead, who would you choose? And why?
I have always wanted to perform with Bono from you to Martin Garrix just released a song with them I’m jealous but proud and think it’s an amazing collaboration I’ve always wanted to do something like that otherwise I would like to do something with Calvin Harris and if not then something with either Pink or Bruno Mars i’ve always wanted to do something with Tina turner as well.

Do you have any long-term aspirations as a music artist?
Yes I want to continue delivering great records it’s all about the music for the fans and I enjoy making songs I mean everything from writing them working on the production I just love music.

What is the best thing about performing to a live audience? What’s been the career highlight so far?
The best thing is when people take over and start singing your songs LOL it’s the best feeling   I would say one of my biggest career highlights on stage was performing with Tiësto at tomorrowland in Belgium in front of 400,000 people it was an insane crowd on the main stage I’ve got to perform with him at many festivals which was incredible back to back we performed our hit record secrets together.
Another career highlight was performing my record ‘bad’ with GUETTA live in Australia at the Olympic stadium I think I forget what’s the name of the stadium was in Sydney with Showtek and it was incredible.
And my other two career highlights not on stage but was receiving an APRA award last year for joining the billions stream club for my record “bad”which I wrote & performed with GUETTA. 
It’s a pretty rare club to be part of that was amazing as a song had over 2 billion strength.
And lastly I would say or song CHASE  because in its first week we already got added to the biggest dance radio station in the country here in America, BPM SiriusXM, I know we literally have everything for dad station but have added the song officially across the nation on top of that we have the biggest DJ support you can get in the first week from Tiësto Afrojack, Steve Aoki, Nervo , Timmy trumpet and the Chainsmokers and several other but this is huge in our first week to get everyone jumping on the record it’s not that often that you get everything all at once like this so this is pretty huge and I’m excited for our record hopefully we get a number #1!!

Person in History – I have to say my father because we lost him 20 years ago and miss him and he made history and now hopefully I’m continuing his legacy.  But of course I have to say Alexander the great lol but if we’re just sticking to a musical I would say Michael Jackson the guy was a genius
Tattoo – (If you don’t have one, what would you get?)  probably my father‘s name
