YARIN GLAM(June 21, 2024)
Interview with Dave Bruce
Yarin Glam is a pop, R&B artist from Los Angeles. Born and raised in Israel, Yarin’s Middle Eastern background shines through her music as she brings her authentic self into each project she pursues. Her music touches on topics including female empowerment, mental health and self-love, and is reminiscent of the likes of Rihanna, Lana Del Rey and Billie Eilish.
Her latest single “BLIND” delves into Yarin’s own experiences with certain individuals that didn’t have her best interests at heart. The songwriter shares, “BLIND is about the people who I thought were my friends but tried to influence me in a negative way and I was too naive to see at the time. I think everyone can interpret this song differently and take it to their own place.”
With ethereal synths and a pounding, punchy beat, “BLIND” showcases Yarin’s signature style and musical evolution, blending emotive lyrics with captivating melodies that explore themes of vulnerability and strength.
With the goal to create music for others to relate to and feel liberated by, Yarin’s songwriting acts as a reminder that we are not alone in life. She confides, “I’d say I write a lot about mental health, my struggles with it, the struggles of being a woman in this toxic society we have. I write about those subjects because I want others to know that they’re not alone in this.”
Yarin has garnered over a million streams for her music, had the privilege of working with Grammy award-winning producers and toured the US and Canada with Emblem3. Having garnered acclaim from the likes of Wonderland Magazine, Earmilk, Atwood Magazine and many more, Yarin Glam is proving to be an artist on the rise.
Have you always wanted to be an artist? When did you get the song writing bug?
Always. Ever since I can remember myself. I’ve always had a passion for singing, music, and the whole artistry behind it. I’ve had the bug from a very young age, and my love for it only grows.Briefly describe your journey to date.
I started putting out music when I was about 18 years old. I got to learn a lot about the industry, the business and a lot about myself as an artist through the years. As I grow and evolve as a person and as an artist, my music evolves and grows with me. How would you describe your sound? Why do you think fans resonate with your music?
I would say my music has a dark pop vibe to it. I think my vulnerability and songs topics are something that a lot of people can relate to.Which artist’s music and/or performance, past or present, inspires you today?
Billie Eilish is one of my favorite artists and she always inspires me. She always stayed true to herself and its something I admire.Your debut single ‘Blind’ has just been released! Describe its origin and evolution.
I wrote blind a couple of months ago. I started with the chorus melody and I knew Immediately that I was creating something I love. It’s very much in that dark pop mysterious vibe that my songs have, but something about BLIND was special to me. The writing process was fairly quick. I was writing about friends and people I knew in LA that present themselves as one thing, but they’re actually the complete opposite.
There is so much new music coming up. I’m so excited about it all, and I can’t wait to share more about it! Stay tuned What tours and events are coming up? What are you looking forward to, and what can the fans expect?
A lot more new music is coming up next. Hopefully a tour as well, we’ll have to wait and see!If you could perform with any music artist, Alive or Dead, who would you choose? And why?
Maybe Beyonce because she’s my ultimate queen! sharing a stage with Beyonce.. I mean you can’t top that. What are your long-term aspirations as a music artist and how are you progressing towards them?
I want to tour the world, share my music with people, and hopefully inspire others and make a difference with my music. With that in mind, what piece of advice would you give to an artist starting out?
To stay true to themselves. Make music that you love, and be the artist that YOU want to be. What is the best thing about performing to a live audience? What’s been the career highlight so far?
Connecting with the crowd, seeing them sing along with your music is such a surreal feeling. There’s nothing quite like it. Being in a room with so many beautiful people who share the love for something so amazing. Here are three general questions your fans will find interesting about you:
1. What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done? When I was 14 I sneaked into Imagine Dragons meet and greet and got pictures w all the band, and didn’t get caught
2. What is the one topic you can talk about for hours? Justin Bieber lol. No, but really
3. What is the thing you like most about yourself? My sense of humor Finally, just a few questions for some quick answers –
