Hailing from Sydney, electronic artist Terry Jack Eddy is entering into the fray with his debut single “Desires & Liars”, a polished and chilled indietronica track that delves into self-love.
The tracks’ backbone is the synthpop textures that pulse through the song. The groundwork of the song is laid with a clean house beat and Terry Jack Eddy flourishes the song with different textures that give the song a firm tension offsetting Terry Jack Eddy’s vocals and lyricism. The artist/producer is interested in exploring the depths of the human experience through music. His approach to the production process is undertaken with the intent to better understand himself as he reflects on past events to allows himself the space to reflect to hopefully lead him to some enlightenment. The ultimate goal for Terry Jack Eddy is to get to a place where he can embrace his individuality through the pursuit of music. “No one does you, like you” says Terry Jack Eddy and it’s a very good place to start for a new artist who wants to carve out their own mark.
“Desires & Liars” has a delicious house groove that will keep you hooked throughout encouraging the listener to focus on Terry Jack Eddy’s vocals which pivot from a chant, like a monk’s pray, to a more melodic response. It’s the yin and the yang of a person’s ego and the urge to reflect against one’s incessant desires. For a first single Terry Jack Eddy shows that he has the skills and the ability to be a thoughtful producer exploring the real issues that drive and impedes us. Word is that Terry Jack Eddy has a number of tracks already in the bag to be released, an exciting prospect for any indie electronica fan who is looking for something fresh.
