““Simple Girl” is exactly the type of song that you want to hear over the airwaves”

When Australian country artist Laura Frank sings “It ain’t so bad, being who you are”  in her sprightly new single “Simple Girl” we believe her. This charming song which exudes all the goodness of singing unabashedly at the rising morning sun is Frank’s call for self-acceptance and refusal to be boxed in.

Frank has steadily been making a name for herself within the Aussie country music scene. Her previous releases have been embraced by fans and radio with her last single “Pretty” debuting at #1 on the Australian iTunes Country Music Video Chart and #5 on the All Genres chart. And with “Simple Girl” she again has gained favour with the single already being picked up for high rotation on Australian Country Radio. This should be no surprise to anyone because “Simple Girl” is exactly the type of song that you want to hear over the airwaves. The song fizzes with a catchy country-pop melody and a cheerful rhythm as Laura sings with the gusto of a woman telling you like it is.

“Simple Girl” and Laura’s musical style is in the vein of other notable country stars reminiscent of the songwriting of Shania Twain, delivered with the empowering sass of a Dixie Chicks track but with that Aussie flavour that makes the song feel like it comes to life as you listen to the verses and chorus unfold in front of you. Laura may sing, “I don’t write love songs” but she may be telling a fib there because “Simple Girl” ultimately is a love song to herself. It’s the type of country song sung alone in the car when you need a little fire or as loudly as possible when imbibing with your girlfriends and your inhibitions lower.

The accompanying music video for “Simple Girl” is also one to check out showing the different styles and personalities that make up the artist Laura Frank. It’s a great single showing that Laura is deserving of the attention she’s received proving herself to be a “Simple Girl” with a truckload of talent.
