The Like A Boss Festival promised a massive night at Bar on the Hill, bringing together some of Australia’s best hip-hop and dance acts. With an incredible lineup featuring Hooligan Hefs, Chillinit, Youngn Lipz, Havana Brown, Mason Dane, and more, there was plenty to be excited about. And while the performances didn’t disappoint, the event itself had some major logistical issues that took away from what could have been an unforgettable experience.

The Performances

If there was one thing that stood out, it was the talent on stage. The artists brought their A-game, giving fans the high-energy performances they came for.

Chillinit was the absolute standout of the night, proving once again why he’s one of Australia’s top-tier rappers. His set was packed with energy, and the crowd was fully engaged as he ran through his biggest tracks. No matter what was happening in the audience, he stayed locked in and delivered a performance worth remembering.

Hooligan Hefs and Youngn Lipz were also crowd favorites, getting the audience hyped with their signature anthems. Havana Brown brought a completely different vibe, mixing her DJ and vocal skills to give the festival a club-like atmosphere.

The earlier acts, including Mason Dane, Talisha, Ellen Rose, and DJ-13, helped set the tone for the night, showing off their own styles and keeping the energy building towards the main acts.

What Went Wrong?

While the performances were perfect, the festival struggled with organization.

– VIP issues: VIP ticket holders were supposed to receive exclusive shirts, but many didn’t get what they paid for, leaving them disappointed.

– Poor communication: Photographers and journalists who were expecting access to cover the event were left scrambling due to poor communication.

– Set times were delayed: While delays can happen at any festival, this one had major timing issues, making it difficult for attendees to plan their night properly.

These issues may seem minor on their own, but when combined, they created a sense of disorganization that could have easily been avoided.

– Crowd & Safety

One of the biggest challenges of the night was crowd behavior. While most festival-goers were there to have a good time, a handful of people ruined it for others by picking fights and throwing objects onto the stage.

Security did an amazing job handling the situation, doing their best to keep things under control despite the chaos. But the responsibility ultimately falls on the attendees, if you’re going to a festival, respect the artists, respect security, and respect those around you.

A huge issue was people throwing their phones onto the stage. This dangerous trend needs to stop. It’s not just disruptive, it’s straight-up reckless. I unfortunately ended up leaving early due to a concussion from one of these flying phones, which put a real damper on an otherwise exciting night. Don’t be that person. Keep your phone in your hand.

Final Thoughts

Like A Boss Festival has so much potential to become an annual staple in the Australian festival scene. With a phenomenal lineup and high-energy performances, the foundation is there. But for it to reach its full potential, the event organizers need to tighten up the logistics and ensure a smoother experience for both artists and fans.

If these organizational issues are ironed out with better VIP management, proper media coordination, and improved scheduling, this could easily become one of the must-attend festivals each year. Here’s hoping next year’s event runs more smoothly because the talent and energy were definitely there!
