Melbourne singer/songwriter, multi instrumentalist, Mike Joseph, releases raw and rocking EP entitled ‘Remnants’.
‘Remnants’, a brilliant five track solo EP release reflects on a darker period in his life. The underlying message is one of hope. Recorded and produced by Mathew Robins at Colour Sound Studios and also in Nashville by James Lugo.
Mike’s ultimate mission is to uplift people and spread hope to people and to be able to connect people with his music. His goal being to bring melodic rock to the forefront of music in the modern era.

The EP kicks off with Acoustic guitar sounds great. Powerful skyhigh vocals love the songwriting from this Melbourne rocker.
Track no 2 is the incredible ‘Here Is The Sun’ with lovely acoustic guitar, softer feel . Beautiful yet emotive, raw vocals. Soundgarden vibes. Great melody and crescendo achieved with a full band. Painful yet uplifting vibes about the loss of a girlfriend or partner it appears. Love the electric guitar. Brilliant art direction from Fable Creative Group on the music video. Amazing so artistic with artist wearing a colourful suit with all skin covered in paint. Pushing the boundaries with art and emotion and stunning visual concepts. You can feel the artists anguish in this song. One of my favorites on the EP! Boom boom pow!!
Next track is ‘Piece Of Mind’ which commences with an electronic sound intro then bursts into rocking riffs. Wow, cool hard rock track. Vocally brilliant. Completely rocking. Mosh pit worthy!!
Penultimate song ‘Southern Skies’ starts with the use of acoustic guitar, love the sound of this track. Raw emotion with powerful skyhigh vocals. Love the reflective songwriting about the loss of his dear father Papa Joe (Peppino). In the music video, the passing of a family member is heartfelt, symbolic and evident as a heavy trunk is dragged through the forest whilst looking up to the sky . Also photos are displayed in different locations which is quite creative in art direction. Feel good melody with uplifting vibes despite sombre visuals. Stunning art direction on the music video once again.
Closing track ‘Fly away’ has the The wow factor. Love the intro . Songwriting brilliance.. Absolutely love the ripper vocals throughout the track. Positive vibes achieved with hitting the high notes. Stunning guitar and drumming work. The outro absolutely fabulous!! Best track on the EP.
One of the best EP releases discovered this year!
