Last night, The Pier Bandroom in Frankston, Victoria, Australia, was the epicentre of high-energy performances and palpable excitement as Polaris headlined a night of exceptional music. With a nearly packed venue even before the first band took the stage, it was clear that fans were in for a memorable experience.

The night kicked off with Sydney-based band Inertia, whose unique blend of dark pop and explosive riffs immediately captivated the audience. Their sound, described as a fusion of pop sensibilities with hard-hitting compositions, filled the room and set the tone for the evening. The band’s live performance, matching their studio recordings in intensity and quality, proved their place in Australia’s heavy music scene. Notably, the crowd’s enthusiasm was evident from the start, with a mosh pit forming during their set, a testament to Inertia’s ability to engage and energize their audience.

Following Inertia, Ocean Grove took the stage and continued the momentum. The Melbourne-based band, known for their experimental and genre-blending style, delivered a performance that was both nostalgic and fresh. A standout moment was when they brought out their former vocalist, Luke Holmes, for a song, creating a nostalgic atmosphere for long-time fans. The band’s dynamic stage presence and interaction with the crowd kept the energy high, making it clear why they have a loyal following.

As the headliners, Polaris did not disappoint. From the moment they took the stage, the band’s performance was tight and powerful, showcasing their technical proficiency and emotional depth. The setlist included fan favourites such as “The Crossfire,” “Hypermania,” and “Masochist,” each song delivered with precision and passion. A particularly poignant moment came when Jamie Hails, the lead vocalist, spoke about their late guitarist Ryan Siew, paying tribute to his legacy and expressing the band’s enduring connection to him.

One of the night’s highlights was the guest appearance of Jack Bergin from Void of Vision during the song “Hypermania,” which sent the crowd into a frenzy. The energy was so intense that the floor seemed to move beneath the jumping crowd, amplifying the raw power of Polaris’s performance. Jesse Crofts from Windwaker, who filled in for Ryan Siew, played with remarkable care and passion, especially during the solos, ensuring that Siew’s presence was felt throughout the performance.

The Pier Bandroom, located right next to the beach, provided an idyllic setting for the concert. Despite the almost packed venue, the sound and lighting were impeccable, enhancing the overall experience. The line for merchandise extended almost out of the venue before the first band started, indicating the high level of anticipation and support from the fans. Jamie from Polaris was seen taking photos with fans side stage before the show, adding a personal touch to the event.

The crowd’s energy peaked with numerous wall of deaths and consistent crowd surfing, creating an electrifying atmosphere. The interaction between the band and the audience was a testament to Polaris’s ability to connect deeply with their fans, making the performance not just a show, but a communal experience.

Polaris’s performance at The Pier Bandroom was nothing short of spectacular. Each band that night brought something unique to the stage, culminating in a high-energy and emotionally charged headline act. The combination of excellent sound, engaging performances, and a dedicated fan base made this show a standout event in the local music scene.
