Viral streaming sensation Mikael Temrowsia or, as known by his stage name Quinn XCII is down under for the first time ever. With his wicked blend of pop, hip-hop and soul. His first stop on tour in Australia is Sydney. Sydney definitely turned up, and got down to make sure Quinn XCII doesn’t forget this gig. Quinn XCII lit up the Manning Bar, along with his support Taj Ralph.

Young gun, Taj Ralph performed to his home crowd last night. The crowd grew with every note he played. With his unique blend of chilled RnB and breezy guitar hooks, you could feel the bass go through the floor and into your body (literally). Taj Ralph took us back to his busking roots and showed us what he is made of. Just with loops, electric guitar, ukulele and synth pads, to beautifully recreate his music for a live setting. Performing his hits Beat The Keeper, Night Catcher and most recent release Undone. Plus his own acoustic spin on The Internet’s song Under Control.  Taj Ralph set was solid showcasing his versatility and hitting those high note and raps.

As the house lights go down; the crowd bolt to the front of the stage. It’s time for Quinn XCII to hit the stage. Patty on drums and Greg on keys begin the set and seamlessly transition to Candle from Quinn XCII debut album The Story Of Us. As Quinn XCII walks on stage, Sydney loses their minds. From that very moment Quinn XCII had everyone in the palm of his hands.

“Sydney, put your hands up like this!” says Quinn XCII and the crowd follows.

It was a massive dance party with every song being a sing along. You couldn’t find anyone who didn’t know every single lyric from every single song.

“You guys singing back my own lyrics is surreal” says Quinn XCII during the set.

During Bootleggin from his EP Bloom, out of nowhere he smoothly mixed in Ignition by R. Kelly which was lit. Like all good thing it must come to an end. However Sydney wasn’t going to have it, chanting “One more song !”. We were treated to not one but two encore songs.

Quinn XCII vocals were baked to perfection, there was nothing he could do wrong nailing every note and rap with connection and feeling to the music. Owning the stage and creating a party vibe that everyone was down for. But let’s not forget, Patty on drums and Greg on keys were feeling it and killing it as well. Greg also had his moment in the spot light where he performed a little ripper of a solo of his own. Together they performed all the hits from his debut album and EP. It’s a fan loving experience that is not to be missed.

Quinn XCII is currently on tour for his The Story Of Us, Oz/NZ tour. Next stop is Brisbane on the 30/6 and Melbourne on the 1/7.
