After releasing her debut Call My Name in January this year, up and coming Melbourne based singer songwriter, Reilly Stapleton is back with her second single That One’s On Me. The piano driven piece sees Reilly use her deep and powerfully emotive lyrics to delve into the raw feelings that come hand in hand with utmost pain and grief.

Her music portrays emotions that are often too painfully difficult to articulate otherwise, which then allows her audience to see the truth within her mind. In this sense, That One’s On Me, captures Reilly at her most vulnerable as she breaks down personal barriers in order to create beautiful lyrics that resonate with loss and personal tragedy.

The profound instrumental arrangement of the track which feature piano and percussion, mixed with Reilly‘s strong vocal, build tension while also creating an unnerving beauty to the piece. That One’s On Me, explores the idea of running from reality rather than facing hardship head on, leading to the tempersome mix of the emotions of guilt, despair, and frustration

The past year has seen Reilly build rapport within her local music scene playing any gig or festival that she can grasp, also spending the last few months in the studio recording a collection of new material, which is set to be released this year.

With the release of Call My Name, and That One’s On Me, Reilly Stapleton is slowly building a sound to make her mark in the Australian music industry. The combination of her straightforward and genuine lyrics with soulful melodies, is fast tracking Reilly as an artist (and songwriter) whose career is on the rise and one to watch.
