And it’s a wrap!
After 15 months of touring the world, the multi award-winning trio from Sydney that is RÜFÜS du Sol concluded their 2022 live performances promoting their album ‘Surrender’ in Perth on Saturday, 17 December at Langley Park to a sold out 20,000 crowd, and they did not disappoint.
Supported by Luke Alessi and Jon Hopkins this event broke the Internet, prompting a staff meltdown at the gates with security shouting ‘hold the line’ as ticket holders were unable to enter until the Internet was back up and tickets were able to be scanned.
Langley Park provided a beautiful backdrop with the Perth CBD skyline and Swan River surrounding the bands long awaited return after a three year absence from Perth.
During the show, the guys referenced their first ever show in Perth at ‘Amplifier Bar’ playing to only about 50 people just a few years ago, the evolution has been a credit to their unique brand of Australian popular electronic dance music.
Make no mistake. This event was on festival scale – facilities included ample staff, in all areas with a massive array of food and coffee trucks catering for the diverse demographic of fans from multiple generations. Kudos to our beautiful sunkissed millennial’s, the females of Western Australia displaying through their appearance that they are a world-class festival ready and stunning.
RÜFÜS du Sol played a solid two hour, set full of crowd-pleasing extended versions of their banger tracks, in a show full of continuous visual effects from the stage and epic laser lighting experience.

The love & connection between RÜFÜS du Sol and their Perth fan base was reciprocated during their performance. Tyrone was more animated than in previous world tour shows, engaging with the crowd and moving around the stage.
Moving down to ground level to greet those lucky fans against the barriers at the front.
Fireworks from another Perth event timed perfectly at the conclusion of ‘Devotion’.
But there were many more stand out moments during the set. The call back from the crowd during ‘Alive’ was special, however eclipsed by the interactive crowd chants for ‘Innerbloom’ of ‘I’m Yours’ that was a true goosebump moment for the patrons.
Falling short of the skies actually opening up for a light shower on queue during ‘Surrender’ this show – the sound – the atmosphere and connection was magical and RÜFÜS du Sol played at their best to date.
Thank you Tyrone, Jon & James, I wanna see ya again!
