Stray From The Path’s Internal Atomics Tour was in Adelaide Sunday night and it was one hell of a show. Four hardcore bands rocked the stage. They were also supporting the recent Australian bushfires with donation tins for The Rescue Collective, helping the animals that suffered. Local Adelaide five piece, Mauvais started the night off with some metalcore tunes. Arms and legs were swinging as audience members moshed in the pit. They played a new song, as well as some well-known songs which had audience members grabbing the mic to scream the words back at them.
.
.
Deadlights were up next. The Brisbane band brought in their post-hardcore sound to Enigma Bar as the crowd moved in. They played a few new songs, including Sugarcoated Psychosis. Deadlights drove here overnight from Unify in Melbourne, along with other touring bands Stray From The Path and Kublai Khan TX. Vocalist, Dylan Davidson, was jumping all over the stage with the most energy. They announced their final song as a singalong before beginning Invisible Hands and having the crowd all move forward.

The crowds streamed in as touring Texas band, Kublai Khan TX, hit the stage next. They dedicated a song to Stray From The Path and everyone who helped with this tour. With guest vocals from Aaron Heard, lead in Jesus Piece who are playing at the same venue the next day. The crowd yelled back ‘live with your judgement, this life is forever’ as Kublai Khan TX began playing The Truest Love; an obvious crowd favourite as the song continued to the breakdown. Arms flew in the air as the crowd sung along to The Hammer, before they finished with Antpile.

Stray From The Path finally hit the stage, opening with Fortune Teller. The New York four piece let their alternative hardcore tunes fill the small room as the audience yelled the words back to them. They described themselves as an outspoken band; all their songs are about important issues in the world. “As a band it’s our responsibility to get up on this stage and talk about what we believe in”. Vocalist, Drew, explained that everyone in the room is different but we’ve all come together for their music; where everyone is always welcome at a Stray From The Path show.
The crowd moshed and screamed the words back to Kickback and Second Death, as they played through their set. With the floor shaking as fans jumped along to their music. They added a short cover of Killing In The Name as an outro to one of their final songs. Stray From The Path were very thankful for everyone coming out to see them. They announced their last song as everyone yelled together, ‘every rich white kid’s got something to say, shut the fuck up’.
